Performing Arts

During second term our students will be focussing on Music and Dance. Students will develop their vocabulary around ‘movement’ and dance. They will also learn about musical notation. Students and parents have done a wonderful job getting online and participating in Performing Arts lessons. We love seeing the students work and enjoyment. Keep it up. Our Foundation and Year One students are being encouraged to demonstrate different types of movement. Students will be introduced to music notation. Year Two and Three students will explore how movements use all parts of the body. For example, arms can be moved up, down, sideways or waving. Students will explore music notation Years Four, Five and Six are learning that dance includes all parts of their bodies. Students will continue to develop their understanding of music notation.

Digital Technologies

Mrs Pezzano is supporting staff to oversee the use of Seesaw this term. She is teaching teachers lots of little tricks and tips. Parents, please remember to reinforce with your children that Seesaw is an educational platform and is only used for school work. It is also during times like these, that lots of chats as a family group about being safe online and cyberbullying are important and should occur regularly. Constantly reinforce that no child should be giving out email addresses or passwords.

Levelled Literacy Intervention (LLI)

The Levelled Literacy Intervention Program is continuing this term with Mrs Warwick and Mrs Carabott working remotely. We will be continuing with the Year 3 and Year 5 students who participated in Term 1. Obviously, the lessons are a little different, but we still encourage the students to continue to read the books assigned to them through ‘Epic’ and complete the task set to confirm their understanding.

Readers of this informative biography will be inspired by the amazing story of Helen Keller, as they learn all about her life, her achievements, and the challenges she faced along the way.
