Course Description:

The Free VMware Certified Associate course on

Cloud Fundamentals will provide you with a

fundamental understanding of VMware’s Cloud

products, including the business challenges those products are intended to solve.

There are three modules in this course. We’ll

start by introducing the concepts of cloud

computing, including some common IT challenges faced by organizations.

In module 2, we take a journey through the

VMware vCloud Suite, showing the various components and features and how they can

help resolve business and technical challenges.

Finally, in Module 3 we wrap things up by helping you relate the products and features to

the challenges they are intended to resolve.

Course Objectives:

At the end of this course, you should be able

to:

Define and describe the types of cloud computing.

• Provide an overview of the features of the

VMware vCloud Suite and understand how VMware’s products help solve business

and technical challenges with regard to

cloud computing.

Course Outline:

Module 1: Introduction to the VMware Cloud

• Define cloud computing, provide examples

of business and technical challenges, and

finally provide an overview of the vCloud

suite of products.

• Define and describe the types of cloud

computing and provide an overview of the

challenges that vCloud Suite is intended to resolve.

Module 2: Components of the VMware Cloud

• Explain what the vCloud Suite is, and how

its components support cloud computing.

• Learn about vCloud Director, vCloud

Automation Center, vSphere, vCloud

Networking and Security, vCenter

Operations Manager, vCenter Chargeback, vFabric Hyperic, vFabric Suite, vCloud

Connector, and vCenter Site Recovery

Manager.

• Discuss the features of the VMware Cloud Suite, and provide an overview of the

challenges that the vCloud Suite is intended

to resolve.

Module 3: Applying what you have learned

• You will use what you have learned in

Module 2 about Cloud Computing and

VMware products and features to help solve

the Elasticity, Efficiency, Availability, and Management challenges faced by the

clients that you met in Module 1.

• Describe which VMware products help solve specific business and technical challenges

in the area of cloud computing.
