DNTU at a glance

Dong Nai Technology University (DNTU) was established in 2005. The university is located at the central area of Dong Nai Province, Bien Hoa City. It is about 35 kms from Ho Chi Minh City. DNTU is being one of the high qualified university in the South of Vietnam. It is also in the top leading of private universities in terms of excellent in teaching and research. Each year, DNTU trains thousands of students coming from all parts of Vietnam. DNTU provides a creative and stimulating environment for students within its distinctive and traditional disciplines.

What to expect from this Journey?

In this journey, you will broaden your knowledge about Vietnam including Vietnamese culture, religion, people as well as Vietnamese cuisine. Especially, you can learn Vietnamese history and traditional customs through visiting history museum, Tran Bien Literature Temple or play some fantastic traditional games as well as creating an excellent Vietnamese traditional Ao Dai clip for your own as good memory for the journey. You will meet and make a lot of new friends at DNTU, as well as people in Vietnam. You also hang out with us to join the night market in Bien Hoa City which is so animated and famous with food stands and souvenirs.

Famous attractions of Dong Nai:

Tran Bien Temple of Literature, built in 1715 under King Nguyen Phuc Chu, was the first temple of its kind in the South. It is a place to honor Confucius and also serves as an educational center. Architecturally inspired by the Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature in Hanoi capital), the Tran Bien Temple of Literature was rebuilt twice in the Nguyen Dynasty and then destroyed by the French in 1861. Then It was restored in 1998 and the first phase was inaugurated during the Tet holidays in 2002. The last phase is under construction.

Buu Long Cultural Park, about 3 kilometers from the center of Bien Hoa City, the temple is emerging as a peaceful and silent space, with curved domes and majestic rooms under the shade of green trees standing in harmony with the surroundings.

Pho Isle: The Dong Nai River splits into tributaries in Bien Hoa to surround a bell-shaped land. It’s Pho Isle in Hiep Hoa commune, Southeast of Bien Hoa City, with an area of over 694 ha. Pho Isle is also called Dong Pho, Gian Pho, Cu Chau or Nong Nai Dai Pho. As recorded, commander Tran Thuong Xuyen led a group of refugees to Vietnam in 1679 and was allowed by the Nguyen Lord to settle in Dong Pho (today’s Pho Isle). He joined locals in building a big trading port here. Roads were expanded and markets were constructed to welcome foreign merchants.

Tan trieu Grapefruit Village: The village is located in Vinh Cuu district, Dong Nai province. When the lunar traditional New Year comes, people in the area manage to buy a couple of Tan Trieu grapefruit to worship their ancestors. The village uses more than 250 hectares of land to grow grapefruit trees. The villagers combine between growing the trees and receiving domestic and foreign tourists to the village to enjoy the beauty and savour the taste of the fruit.

Activity 1: DNTU Welcome Reception and Ice Breaking

Time to get to know each other! DNTU Teachers, P2A Coordinator and DNTU Student Ambassadors will give an authentic Vietnamese welcome to all P2A Mobile Students upon arrival at Dong Nai Technology University. Vietnamese Food will be served and VN Culture Show for the entertainment. Orientation for the whole program will be disscussed together with the assigning of DNTU Student Ambassador Buddies.

Activity 2: DNTU Uniqueness Discovery

Exploratation to your home away from home and its uniqueness. Campus Tour will be given to all P2A Mobile Students for familiarization purpose on Dong Nai Technology University. Finding out the DNTU program, facilities, centers and the life style of being DNTU students.

Activity 3: Dong Nai Culture Discovery

Dong Nai is a province in the Southeast region of Vietnam, located east and northeast of Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). It is surrounded by Lam Dong in the north, Binh Thuan in the east, Ba Ria - Vung Tau in the south, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc and Ho Chi Minh City in the west. The largest city in Đồng Nai is Bien Hoa.

Dong Nai is a major industrial complex with about 100 major plants and enterprises. The province is easily accessible by land, river and sea routes. It is endowed with many picturesque landscapes and tourist sites such as Tri An Water Fall, Cat Tien National Park and Tan Trieu Pomelo Village.

Activity 4: Vietnamese Traditional Games

Traditional games constitute a form of cultural activities, a spiritual product which the people have created and developed during the course of history. People can see the traditional games in some festivals and holidays, all of them are very familiar, healthy and exciting entertainments.
