Procedure: Show a video to start the lesson and introduce the class theme. Proceede to talk to students about travelling.

Aim: Catch students attention and prepare them for the subject that will be presented.

Interaction: Teacher > class Estimated time: 5 minutes Rationale: Make use of audiovisual material

to stir the students’ interest on the class theme and make them focus on the lesson.

So Conan went to Cuba and Leo DiCaprio is strutting around. How about you? Have you ever travelled somewhere?

Procedure: Show the students pictures of possible means of transportation you can use when you travel. Afterwards introduce the verbs you should use alongside them.

Aim: Get them to know the names of vehicles that are used and how to form phrases with said vehicles.

Procedure: Give exemples of words related to travelling (be it how to get there or where to stay).

Aim: The students should be able to express themselves on a specific subject (travels)

words of a common area and guide the students in a concise way so they don’t get “overwhelmed”.

Places you can stay: hotel, hostel, inn, b&b (bed and breakfast).

When travelling by plane: flight, airport, take off, landing, check in, passport ,etc.

When going by train: train station, Maglev, ticket, platform, transfering, etc.

Common words you may need: reservation, booking, cancellation, holiday, business travel, sightseeing, tourist attraction, etc.

Procedure: Show a video to lighten the mood, then ask students to form groups and make a travel plan (destination, place to stay, how to get there...)

Aim: Check if they were able to assimilate what was taught in the lesson and stimulate them to think about what was shown.
