CHAPTER 1 Welcome to Vodafone Usage Manager
The Vodafone Usage Manager (VUM) is an app compatible with your Android, Apple, or Windows phone
that monitors your data usage (Mb) and warns you when you have reached predefined thresholds. It can be
used worldwide.
This guide gives step-by-step instructions for installing and using the app to monitor usage, and how to
get help should you encounter problems, including the following chapters:

To get additional help on using the app after installation, tap the Help icon, and then tap the link about

The version number of the application is also shown on this screen. You will be
notified of updates automatically through VUM alerts.
If you do not find the information you need, you may direct all other support

CHAPTER 2 Installing Vodafone Usage Manager
This chapter describes how to download and install Vodafone Usage Manager and configure it to allow
location services.
To download Vodafone Usage Manager
1. Go to Google Play for Android, and follow the store’s standard procedures for download and install.
2. You will now be prompted to accept the terms and conditions before you may proceed. Tap Accept.
3. You will now see a short slide show stepping through the application’s features.
The slide show appears only once on initial start-up. You may read through by tapping Continue on
each page, or you can go directly to the application by tapping Skip.

CHAPTER 3 Viewing your usage data
You may view your current and historical cellular and WiFi data usage for all five zones. The remainder of
this section describes how to view your usage data and modify this view to get just the information you
need.
To view the current day’ data
When you open Vodafone Usage Manager, the Home screen displays the current day’s data usage for 5
zones.
Note that the order in which the zones appear depend on the zone where your SIM was issued.
You can see data usage for both cellular and WiFi for each zone.

To change the time period
By default, the consumption is by Day, but you can tap to view by Week or Month.
To view previous data usage history
To view previous data usage history, swipe back (left). If no data usage is available then a message appears.
To return to the current view from any screen, tap Current.
To view more historical usage details
To view a landscape graph of historical data usage, flip your phone horizontally.

CHAPTER 4 Configuring your threshold and alert settings
You may configure the data usage threshold at which alerts appear as well as how often subsequent alerts
appear. For example, you may configure the app to alert you first when you have used 15 MB, and then
again for every additional 5 MB used. You may also view your full alert history.
To configure settings
Tap the Settings icon.

The Settings page appears.
Tap the region for which you want to configure alert thresholds.

Tap and drag the Daily Threshold slider to increase the usage for which you want to be alerted.
Then tap and drag the Repeat every slider to adjust the additional megabyte threshold for subsequent
alerts.
Repeat the previous step for the Monthly Threshold.
To reset the default thresholds, tap the Use default values button The default values are as follows:
Domestic Europe Vodafone
Global Network
Global Network Rest of world
Daily off 30 MB 10 MB 10 MB 5 MB
Monthly 500 MB off off off off
To return to the main Settings page, tap Back.
To see a full list of all alerts that you have received, tap Alert history on the Settings page. The application
will hold approx 6 months of data usage information.

CHAPTER 5 Viewing alerts
When a threshold has been reached, alerts appear both in your device’s Notifications as well as on the
Vodafone Usage Manager Home screen.
To view alerts within Vodafone Usage Manager
When you have reached a preconfigured threshold, the data usage bubble changes to red and a warning
symbol appears beneath MB.
To see the total data usage breakdown for inbound and outbound traffic, tap the bubble.
On Android devices, you can see this breakdown per application.

Note: On Android 6 & 7, the application usage drill down is disabled due to inconsistencies in usage data
from these versions of the Android operating system.
To view alerts in your phone’s notifications
When a threshold is breached, you will receive notification alerts as follows:
For all zones
where it is the first alert You’ve used XX MB of data today in country (region). You will be
notified again today after another next MB. You can edit the threshold
in settings.
where it is the last alert You’ve used XX MB of data today in country (region). You won't receive
any more notifications today. You can edit the threshold in settings.
The alert always appears as a popup alert even if the application is not in the foreground.
To dismiss the alert, tap OK.
