Hannah Makes History>>>By: Grayson Garrette

September 25th and 26th marked a milestone for

Community High School sports. Junior Hannah Goodwin

became the first Community golfer to ever play in the

TSSAA State Tournament. “Overall, the State Tournament

was stressful, but it was a learning experience for sure,”

explains Hannah. Making history, Hannah shot an 83 the

first day and an 84 the second day. With this outstanding

performance, she finished 7th overall out of the field of 49.

“I’m really proud of Hannah and her adventure of making

school history,” states teammate Zachary Lohn. Hannah is

continuing to work on her game to get better each day, and

Community High School looks forward to sending her back

to State next year!

District Runner Up - Viqueens>>>By: Ana Ragland

October 2nd marked the biggest accomplishment in Viqueen volleyball history. The Viqueens beat Eagleville for the first time ever in all three sets! On top of this, their winning season seeded them as #2 in their district, resulting in a battle against Eagleville (which they won.)

After this big win, the Viqueens went on to play the #1 team, Columbia Academy, on October 3rd. Having lost this match, our Viqueens became District Runner Up. This allowed the girls to obtain such a title only one could hope for, especially against such a well-rounded team.

The Viqueens went on to play in Regions against Sale Creek. Sadly, this was another match that our girls lost, but they gained more than anyone could imagine from their matches: the right to say that they beat Eagleville along with Viking Pride!
