Looking Forward...

So, are there rays of sunshine that people can hang onto as we peek into 2009? Well, we think so! It’s time to go back to basics--appreciate the simpler, smaller treasures of everyday life—a gorgeous sunset, great friends having a meal together, enjoying the beautiful weather in one of the most devine towns in America, being able to enjoy the many diverse cultural events that are available in the area—many of which are free or very moderately priced. Let’s also think about having the ability to give back to so many wonderful, committed charities in our community—not necessarily with big monetary donations, but with your free time, heart-felt contributions and continued support. We are VERY grateful for our customers, consignors and friends and thankful for their loyalty and patronage.

Classic Collections wishes you a New Year fi lled with blessings and good health, precious time with family friends and neighbors, the ability to enjoy the beautiful tropical paradise that we call home and the determination and will to look forward to 2009 with Hope and Promise. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

While much has been said about the recent Bernard Madoff scandal

and the implications for our many friends in the Palm Beach community, we need to recognize that previous to this horrible treachery, the economy had hit an all time low in 2008. The stock market lost almost half of its value, long-term banks failed, companies that were pillars of the investment business were gone over night and builders, developers and even government agencies involved in the housing industry went bankrupt or disappeared.

We are so pleased to have been able to donate, along with

our friends at Skaneateles Furs, a beautiful, custom handmade fox and sequined evening cape for the annual March of Dimes Glitz Charity Event held at Mar-a-Lago on December 6, 2008. The March of Dimes mission is to improve the health of all babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality through programs of research, education and community service.

Congratulations are in order as the event raised over $400,000 by donors
