IT’S HARD TO BELIEVE Broadway theaters
have been closed for nearly eight months
due to the pandemic. Thankfully for theater
lovers, the Broadway lights shine brightly
on THIRTEEN this month when “Broadway’s
Best” returns to Great Performances. The
special Friday night line-up
is back for a fourth year with
an uproarious comedy, a
world-premiere concert, and
more. So, tune in, watch
online, and enjoy your front-
row seat to Broadway’s best!
We begin on a comedic
high note with One Man,
Two Guvnors (Fri 6th, 9 p.m.). Featuring a
hilarious Tony Award-winning performance
by CBS Late
Late Show
host and self-
proclaimed
Broadway
superfan
James
Corden, the
hit comedy by Richard Bean—adapted
from a 1743 Commedia dell’arte farce and
set in England during the Swinging 60s—
delighted critics and audiences alike
during its West End and Broadway
productions in 2011 and 2012.
Corden plays a musician-turned-
bodyguard trying to keep his two
clients apart, a tricky predicament
resulting in comic mayhem and
a series of increasingly spec-
tacular sight gags and
pratfalls performed masterfully by the
sidesplittingly funny Corden.
What makes Fiddler on the Roof so
timeless? Find out in Fiddler: A Miracle
of Miracles (Fri 13th, 9 p.m.), the first in-
depth documentary on the beloved
musical. Composer
Jerry Bock and
lyricist Sheldon
Harnick are among
those sha r i ng
stories and insights
into the show’s
deep reach across
time and cultures,
along with famous fans Lin-Manuel
Miranda, Topol, Joel Grey, Harvey Fierstein,
and cast members from the 2015 Broad-
way revival including Danny Burstein,
Jessica Hecht, and Alexandra Silber.
Highlights include footage of a 1969
Brooklyn middle school production featur-
ing a predominantly African American
and Hispanic cast, recent productions in
Thailand and Japan, the Temptations
performing “If I Were a Rich Man,” and
reflections on director and choreographer
Jerome Robbins’ famed “Bottle Dance.”
Get in the holiday spirit with a special
encore of Irving Berlin’s Holiday Inn—The
Broadway Musical (Fri 20th, 9 p.m.),
Roundabout Theatre Company’s Tony-
nominated musical packed with
thrilling dance numbers and a parade
of hit Irving Berlin songs, including
“White Christmas,” “Easter Parade,”
and “Shaking the Blues Away.”

swim. They’re social and political, form hierarchies and
friendships. Get to know the many species of primates—
from the popular chimpanzee and gorilla to more
obscure species like the snub-nosed monkey, the slow
loris, and the tarsier—in this three-part Nature minise-

Rise of the Nazis
Tue 10th-24th, 9 p.m.
IN 1930, GERMANY is a liberal democracy. Four
years later, democracy is dead, Germany’s leader
is a dictator, and the government is in the hands
of the Nazis. Learn how Adolf Hitler and the
Nazis rose to power, from the political scheming
that turned the German parliament into a real-
life House of Cards to the dismantling of
democracy that transformed Hitler into the
all-powerful Führer—and the warning signs that
could have stopped Hitler and changed history.72FILMS LTD
