Principal’s Desk Dear Readers,
With the advent of August, comes the festival
season. We are trying to keep pace with
numerous school events, exams and festivities.
This is when we really need to race with time.
Soon the school will close for Navaratri. The
children have gone through a grilling time so let
them enjoy their holidays. Please guide them
regarding their responsibilities towards the
society.
Have a very enjoyable Navaratri/Durga Puja.

Periodic Test –I for classes VI to X and Unit
Test-1 for classes I to V and XI-XII were
conducted successfully in the first week of the
month.
PTM for classes I to VIII on 21/07/2017
IIMUN Orientation Session was held in the
school for classes VII to XII to acquaint them
about the forthcoming conference to be
hosted by our school.

Our school has been privileged to enrol three
foreign students under ROTARY YOUTH
LONG-TERM EXCHANGE PROGRAMME by
Rotary Club of Silvassa. The details of the
students are as follows.
Daniel Tascheck from Brazil, 18 yrs
Paul Jean Marie from France, 16 yrs
Nina Marie Lupariello from USA, 18 yrs
The programme is aimed to make them learn
new languages, discover our culture, and
truly become global citizens.
The students and teachers of our School
celebrated the 71st Independence Day with
great fervour and enthusiasm. The toppers
of the last year class X batch were invited
with their parents to unfurl the tricolour.
To mark the celebration, an assemblage of
events took place ranging from patriotic
songs competition to speeches by our
students which created an atmosphere of
national pride on the premises of the school
campus today. The Vice Principal urged
everyone to take oath to work earnestly for
the nation and also addressed the gathering
in national language and triggered the spirit
of true patriotism among the children.
Cyber Safety Week was observed in the
school. The students of senior section
updated themselves with the emerging
threats of the Cyber world. They presented
the possible safety measures in chart
presentation.
The school conducted its formal Investiture
Ceremony on 21st August 2017. The senior
student council was inducted as office
bearers to take up the responsibilities as
student leaders.
Our Principal, Ms Sharmistha Sen and Vice
Principal Mr Faruk Malada honoured the
council members (Prefects) with sashes.
Parents of the Prefects were invited to pin
the badges to the Council members.
The Council took the oath under the
leadership of the Principal to abide by the
school rules and hold the school motto in
high esteem.

Maths workshop for primary teachers (I-V)
was conducted by Ms.Sita Giri.
The government’s ambitious vaccination
drive to eradicate Measles and Rubella
reached our school last month on 17th
August. All students below the age of 15
have been vaccinated successfully on the
day. This was our joint endeavour with the
local Health deptt and WHO, in helping the
country eradicate these diseases.
The Gita Championship League Exam was
held on 19th August. Twenty students from
class V to X took part in it.
Following Inter house competitions were
conducted during the period.

Our school celebrated ‘Ganeshotsav-2017’
with the grand cultural manifestation in Alok
City. More than 135 students devoted their
arts and skills to the Elephant Headed God,
Ganesha in the form of Classical and Semi-
classical dance, Folk dance, Contemporary
dance, Puppet dance, Solo dance, Group
Singing and Traditional Ramp Walk.
The teachers residing in the colony Mr Anil
Kumar, Mr Vijay Tita, Mrs Anjali Maid, Mrs
Anjali Singh, Ms Kavita Mishra, Ms. Deepali
Sharnagat, Ms Gitika Khandelwal and two
students Kashir Hingora and Faiz Malada
from class VI presented a thought-provoking
drama under the guidance of Ms
Seethalakshmi. Besides this, Ms Anita
Mahajan and Mr James Noronha pleased the
audience with their solo singing
performances.
The complete dance show was mentored by
our versatile dance teacher Mr Saroj Naik.
Mr James Noronha led the music
arrangement throughout the show. It was
anchored by our teacher, Mr Salim Hingora
who was accompanied by our students
Khushi Singh from class IX and and Kashish

ACHIEVEMENTS: Twenty-Eight (28) students from our school
took part in Interschool Carrom and Chess
tournaments held on 8th and 9th August,
2017 by Dept of Sports and Youth Affairs,
DNH.
Seven of them returned with prizes in
different categories. The details of winners

the senior section competition.

with a participation certificate and a
medal.
Our school bagged the runner up trophy in
the overall competition.
