Why do you pay your membership dues year after year? Moose is a fraternal organization that supports a Child’s City and a Sen-ior Living Center. We be-lieve that all children should be cared for with

loving and supportive adults in their lives. Some-times that’s not possible in their current situa-tion. So, they come to Mooseheart where they have a chance for an education, to be healthy and happy, and have a safe environment to grow into happy healthy adults. Dear Moose Members,

Thanks to everyone who volunteered to make the Moose Family

Picnic a huge success. From the comments that I heard all members

and guests had a great time.

Supreme Governor Rodney Hammond will be visiting our lodge on

Dec 2. He will be here for a luncheon in his honor. We will need

volunteers to help prepare and serve on this day. This event should

only take a couple of hours to prepare, serve and clean-up. I look

forward to making this an enjoyable event for Supreme Governor

Hammond.

We are still in need of volunteers to work in the kitchen. Your help

at our daily meals, Fish Fry, Wings, Bingo, and other special events

is greatly appreciated. Please contact Mike Davis or Mike Bruss if

you would like to volunteer a few hours a week.

The Kids Room is almost complete. Volunteers to help decorate the

room, help clean, and slightly used toys are needed. Contact Jeanie

Morgan to help with the room. Donations of toys can be left at the

Lodge Office or put in the new kids’ room.

The new Moose sign and lettering is now complete except for some

electrical work to be preformed by an outside electrician.

Our annual Veteran’s Appreciation Dinner will be on Nov 13th.

Please pick up registration form and other information at the Lodge

or see Phil McCann.

Fraternally,

Mike Bruss, Governor

One District / One State

Women are encouraged to attend District Meetings.

The Senior Regent and Recorder will be on the roll

call for these meetings and will need to give a report

similar to the report that LOOM gives.

Dear Moosettes,

As you might know the IL Moose Association sponsors a day for the chil-

dren at Mooseheart every year called Illinois Day. I have heard about

this day for many years. This year 5 ladies got together at 5:30 a.m. to

head to Mooseheart. We arrived about 11 just to be greeted by one of

our own men! Russ had gone up on Thursday to help with this event.

We didn’t get up there in time to enjoy all the activities but what we

were able to do was great. Two of us played volleyball with the girls.

We walked until we hitched a ride on the tram around the campus to

see the different houses, the church, (called The House of God), the

school, the post office and the shop. Once you visit this place called

Mooseheart you understand the importance of what we do.

The most important part of the whole day was to meet our Sunshine

child, Jesse. We weren’t able to pick him out of all the kids hanging out

in the gym because he lost weight in the last 2 years. We found him

through talking to the house parents. When we finally found him the

look on his face when he met us was so heartwarming. He was so happy

to meet some of the ladies that sponsor him. He wanted hugs from all

of us and of course we were happy to do so. I bet he hugged us 3 or 4

times. This young man graduates in May of 2020. He has his head on

straight and such a nice guy. If you have a few minutes you could spare

to write to him he would love it. We have labels in the women’s re-

stroom on the bulletin board to make it easy to send a quick note or a

long letter. Jesse would like to know what you are doing or anything

you would like to share with him.

Until next time, Joice Schmitt, Senior Regent
