Free Volunteer Training on Mandated Reporting
A statewide group of social service & educational organizations worked together to create a free, online training on Mandated Child Abuse & Neglect Reporting. The training itself is not required of 4-H volunteers. However, 4-H volunteers DO fit the definition of mandated reporters (i.e., someone who has
temporary care, custody or control
of minors); so it is enormously helpful to know the basics that are included in the training: 1. Legal Requirements of the Mandated Reporter 2. Child Abuse/Neglect Defined and Indicators of Child Abuse/ Neglect 3. Plan for Responding to Suspicions Child Abuse/Neglect 4. Effectively Reporting Go to http://protectmokids.com
