The landmark agreementbetween the Kendra and IGNCAwill open up unimaginable

opportunities of work in specificareas ranging from oral traditions,performing arts, culturalinformatics, traditional knowledgesystem, story-telling traditions,conservation, Samskritam studies,and manuscriptology, each with apotential sub-text of ever-widening and over-lappingsubjects. In this sense, the list ofresearch and work areas can beendless for an ardent pursuant.

The cultural spectrum of theBengaluru Kendra assumes newerand richer dimensions from 2016,broadening its activities into a Sr

deeper understanding of Indianheritage through research,documentation, and preservation.Essentially, this would be a lastinglegacy of the Bhavan for thegenerations to come.

With its outreach andendowment programmes, classeson different wings of Indian culturesuch as performing arts, yoga,and scriptures, and tie-up withinstitutions such as ICCR, AIR,Doordarshan, the Kendra ispoised to take a quantum leap inpromoting culture.

nomenclature, the Gandhi Instituteof Computer Education &Information Technology of theBengaluru Kendra has seen about600 candidates passing out of itsportals with a certificate that hasensured several of them jobs.The convocation of the 7th and 8th

batches held at the Bhavanpremises on Nov. 18, was aheartening affair as unemployedyouth, housewives, and seniorcitizens walked away with pride,certificate in hand.

Some 600 persons from theeconomically disadvantagedsections, have successfullycompleted their course at the

Institute, which offers MSO,AAC, and SCC free of cost.Some 200 of them are seniorcitizens, whose tech savvy wayshas opened up the digital world tothem. Personality development isa part of the Institute curriculumfor youngsters, to help them bettertheir job prospects.
