2014 THE FIFTH AVENUE VWVolkswagen Cars: A Showcase of Mechanical

Ingenuity

If you're looking for a new car, your best recourse is to go to your local Volkswagen or VW dealership to

look at the German company's mechanical wonders. That being said, this car company is second in the world,

next to the Japanese giant Toyota. Aiming to be the world's number one by 2018, it is gaining ground at a

scintillating pace, due to the outstanding quality of its cars. Although a lot of people misspell it as

Volkswagon it is still a mainstream car manufacturer and a very popular one at that. Anyway, why is it so

popular?

The Beetle

The last original Beetle

rolled off the

production line in

Mexico in 2003, and it

sits in the car

manufacturer's museum in

Wolfsburg, Germany. That

being said, although you

will not find it at your

local VW dealership, you

will find the new and

modern version of the

Beetle as awesome as the

old one.

The Beetle, also known as the Bug, is ranked fourth in the World's Most Influential Cars list, and it

is actually the bestselling and pioneer product of Volkswagen. Aside from which, it has been in

production since 1936. Although it stopped fully in 2003, it is still the longest produced car ever.

It was designed by a German car genius, Ferdinand Porsche (who is obviously the founder of Porsche,

another car company, who is an affiliate of Volkswagen) in the 1930s. It is also considered a novelty

in pop culture, since the car starred in numerous movies, particularly in the 1960s movie, Herbie.

As of today, the new Beetles are less rounded and flatter than their old counterparts, it still

resembles the design of the old, and it still is one of the best cars you can ever have.

The Volkswagen Golf

If you troop to your local VW dealership and ask for the best and

most affordable cars in their inventory, the car dealer will

definitely give you a look of the Volkswagen Golf. Currently in

the seventh generation, it is a compact car and is ideally used as

a compact car. The first version of the Golf underwent production

in 1974, and was discontinued in 1983. Since then, it has gained

numerous awards, most notably the World Car of the Year in 2009

and 2013, underscoring Volkswagen's competitiveness in the world

market.

Arguably the one of Volkswagen's cheaper cars, the Jetta is a compact car that is currently in its

sixth generation, and considered as a compact sedan as well. Although the Golf is widely considered

as the company's flagship car, the Jetta was made to compete with the compact cars of other

manufacturers, notably the Honda Civic and the Toyota Corolla. It won the Green Car of the Year

Award in 2008, awarded by the Green Car Journal. Aside from which, it has won the Motorweek's 2009

Driver's Choice Awards for Best Eco-Friendly Car and Best of the Year.

If you're still not convinced, just go to your local VW dealer and check the cars out personally.

You will definitely like what you see. Regardless if you're looking for your first car or to

replace your current one, Volkswagen cars are your best option.
