Volt I drove Notes:

• Curb appeal – Looks sharp.

• Low to the ground.

• Hatch storage area is small.

• Rear seat head room not comfortable for average size person.

Driver controls. Looks cool. All • Driver controls. Looks cool. All Screen control display. Clear view -A pillars constrain view to left and right.

• Drive in electric super quite. Good pick up.

•Handled fine on the road. Driving a car you cant feel the rev up of the engine as you accelerate is a different sense. Even a golf cart you can hear whine has you push it, this is very quite.

Things to take note

of -• This is not a college kids car, or a single adult in an apartment setting. One the cost, 2 the limited options for recharging it overnight to the average college kid living on campus or in an apartment.

• This is not an all electric car. It’s a hybrid. You run electric for a period. This one being the first 35 miles you go that is most likely blended into a go that is most likely blended into a time period also. If your stuck in traffic your using electric power sitting still so your 35 miles can be impacted based on traffic.

• Repeat all you get on a full charge is 35 miles or an hour or less of electric driving.

• If your committed to going green, set up your garage for a good plug in habit.

• May not be the best car for winter use due to low ride (northern states).

Electric Operation• You have a good view of how much juice you have left. It estimates by how many miles you have to go. Remember time can be a factor so if your sitting the miles may tick down on you, but you most likely have a full tank of gas as you switch into mode.

• Plug is by the driver door so odds of you peeling out connected are low. But I expect to see some good video on YouTube.

• The connection cord is stored in the trunk and the handle has a squeeze trigger that will release a clip. This may have been better on the top in orange as I see this being yanked out and broken. Will be a high cost item to fix in the future.

SummaryGM and the Government have put a good deal of stock into the Volt. If our energy policy is being formed around this we are in trouble. I would venture to say the majority of buyers will fall off the wagon and use it as a gas vehicle over a short period or primarily.

This is a small step in a good direction This is a small step in a good direction but too costly to advance the design without some big cash input.

You could buy two small more efficient cars for the price of this.

If alternative technology was available and ecomnomical, I would have though Europe would be at the forefront due to much higher fuel cost than we have in the USA.

Here is what they say in Europe –
