Trips

Students from BU 211 International Business and members of the Management Club visited the

United Nation’s Headquarters in Manhattan on March 18, 2016 with Dr. Shani Carter, the club’s

Student, Faculty & Staff News

Dr. Shani Carter

I chose to relocate to Wagner College because it was clear

to me that the faculty and upper administration are student-

focused and the students are thriving in this environment.

Indeed, when I interviewed at Wagner, I studied the

students across campus, who all seemed lively, happy,

content, focused, and nurtured, and I wanted to work in an

environment where I could collaborate with colleagues

across campus to help students flourish. Further the

Wagner community is innovative, ambitious, and

industrious, such as with the Wagner Plan, and the

cohesiveness of the campus culture and curriculum was

exciting to me.

During this past year, my Chair, Donnie, department

colleagues, colleagues across campus, and students have

welcomed and sought my collaboration on various

projects, and have accepted, supported and encouraged my

suggestions and efforts in research, teaching, and service,

such as collaborating with them on presentations, leading accreditation, bringing in guest speakers,

visiting the United Nations with my students, starting the student Management Club, and assisting

with the Mandela Fellows. From my first visit, faculty, staff, and students have been warm and

welcoming, and I remain surprised at my good fortune at finding Wagner.
