Recital Information PICTURES: May 13-17, 2019 at the Studio (regular classes are not held during picture week with the exception of Saturday classes) TICKETS: Tickets go on sale April 1, 2019 at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts box office. Tickets will also be available online at www.macombcenter.com. There is no ticket limit. Students cannot perform in the spring recital until all balances have been paid. STUDIO REHEARSALS: Tuesday, June 11 & Wednesday, June 12-Students are required to attend all scheduled rehearsals (no costumes) DRESS REHEARSAL: Thursday, June 13, 2019 (Times to be announced) at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts PERFORMANCES: Saturday June 15, 2019 at 12pm and 6pm

Beginning Pointe Workshop-June 18 This four hour workshop is designed for dancers beginning pointe this summer. It will cover all of the basics of pointe shoes including selecting the right fit, sewing and tying shoes, pointe safety and how to care for pointe shoes. The class, taught by Sarah Komara will also include a beginning pointe technique class that will prepare dancers for summer classes. This is a mandatory workshop for any APSD dancers starting pointe in the summer session. Cost is $65. Dancers must have permission from the Studio Director or Assistant Studio Director prior to beginning pointe. Please do NOT sew shoes prior to workshop. Shoes must be approved by one of the directors before the start of the workshop. Beginning Pointe Workshop meets on: Tuesday, June 18, 2019 11:00am-3:00pm. Cost is $65.

Fairy Tale Dance Days-June 25 & July 16 You are cordially invited to attend a royally exciting day filled with your favorite princesses! These theme based classes teach a love of dance and performing arts through creative play. Dancers, ages 4-6 will dance along with their favorite stories and create related crafts. Each fun-filled session consists of introductory dance, story time and craft time. Students do not need to have any prior knowledge of dance. Register for one or both Fairy Tale Dance Days! Students should wear a leotard and tights, or a princess dress, as well as ballet shoes or socks with non slip soles. Each session meets from 10:00am-12:00pm on the following dates: Tuesday, June 25, 2019, Tuesday, July 16, 2019. Cost is $30 per session.

Camp Confetti-July 16 & July 24 MARQUEE MIX-UP MUSICAL THEATER CAMP-AGES 7-10 Marquee Mix Up-A Musical Theater and Jazz Dance Camp Register your 7-10 year old now for a fun day of Camp Confetti, then start spreading the news! This fun, Broadway-themed camp will explore musical theater dancing and jazz while learning fun facts about popular shows, including Wicked, Matilda, Hairspray, Cats and Annie. Your Broadway performers will light up the stage with their Marquee Mix-Up crafts and dance activities. At the end of camp, dancers will make their Broadway debut by performing showstopping routines inspired by each of these musicals! Cue the curtain, Broadway here we come! Tuesday, July 16th from 9:00am-12:00pm. $75.00 per dancer. DANCING WITH MY DOLLIE: PASSPORT TO PARIS-AGE 3-6 Allons-y, mes amies! Let’s go, friends! Tiny dancers will say bonjour to an amazing adventure that’s double the fun with their favorite dollie in this fun ballet, tap and creative movement dance camp! Together, they’ll tour all the magical sites of Paris and make fun memories with their dollie along the way: painting and tapping at the Eiffel Tower, twirling with pastries and tea in the gardens, and doing the can-can with their new friend Fifi the poodle! Don’t forget all the trés chic Parisian crafts especially for your dancer and her dollie, and VOILÁ! This dance camp is the perfect passport offering twice the fun for your dancer and her best dollie friend! Wednesday, July 24th from 9:00am-12:00pm. $75.00 per dancer.

Masters Week Dance Intensive-August 12-16 Ann Parsley School of Dance invites you to Masters Week - a week full of master classes, sponsored by the Macomb Ballet Company. Guest teachers from around the country will share their knowledge and expertise with dancers. This workshop focuses on developing technique and artistry. Dancers will sharpen their skills on specific dance styles including: ballet, pointe, jazz, hip hop, contemporary and lyrical. August 12-16, 2019 from 9:00am - 5:00pm. Ages 8 and up. Cost $240.00/week, $70/day, $30/class.

Ballet Boot Camp-August 20-22 For ages 8 and up, this 3 day mini intensive is designed to bridge the gap between the academic year and summer classes and to help prepare dancers for auditions. The boot camp will focus on body conditioning, non-syllabus ballet technique, pointe work (for students on pointe), stage presentation, quality of movement and audition tips. Dancers will have the opportunity to audition for the Macomb Ballet Company upon completion of the workshop. Students will have the opportunity to train intensively with the directors of the Macomb Ballet Company while also expanding their movement vocabulary and technique, developing strong artistry, and learning the art of choreography. Dancers should have several years of ballet experience. Ballet Boot Camp meets on the following days and times: Tuesday, August 20th, Wednesday, August 21st, Thursday, August 22nd from 10:00am-2:30pm, break from 12-12:30pm for lunch daily. CCA International Summer School The Cecchetti Council of America holds a two week, intensive summer camp every year at Hope College in Holland, Michigan. The camp is July 7-July 20, 2019. This camp is an excellent opportunity for serious students, ages 11 and up, to continue their dance training over the summer. Faculty includes guest teachers from around the world and CCA faculty from across the country. Students receive various classes such as classical ballet, pointe, pas de deux, character, jazz, improvisation, mime and lectures including dance history, nutrition and injury prevention. Cecchetti Ballet Exams-Sunday, March 17th

Date Sunday, March 17th, 2019 Where Ann Parsley School of Dance Schedule The exam schedule is close to finalized. You will receive your exam time at least two weeks prior to testing. Arrival Students must arrive 45 minutes prior to their scheduled exam. Per CCA guidelines, parents are not allowed in the waiting room under any circumstance. Parents may wait in the parking lot. The teacher of each level will be present before and after each exam. A staff member will also be present the entire day. See the chart below for exam lengths. Students must wait quietly for their exam to begin. It is recommended that they bring their grade book to study while they wait. Students must check in at the front desk upon arrival. Each student will be given a number to pin on their leotard. Payment Exam fees must be paid by February 23, 2019. All account balances including March tuition must also be paid in full before a student can take their exam. Checks and cash only. CREDIT CARDS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED FOR EXAM FEES. Please make checks payable to Ann Parsley School of Dance and we will write one check to the Cecchetti Council. What to Wear Students must wear a solid black leotard. Grade I and up must wear a simple black camisole leotard. Primary II and III students are to wear their class uniform (blue for Primary II and black for Primary III). Boys should wear black dance pants and a white t-shirt with ballet shoes. Hair must be secured in a bun with a hair net, slicked back with no bangs; nothing can be worn around bun or in hair. Students must wear Revolution prima pink footed tights, available at the front desk. Clean pink ballet slippers should be worn with the straps sewn, not tied, and the elastic drawstrings tucked in. Absolutely no jewelry or nail polish is permitted. If your dancer is in need of a camisole leotard, they can be purchased on our Nimbly shop. Exam Results Grades and examiner comments will be given to students on an individual basis the week after the exam. Students are asked not to share their marks with other students.

Payment Policy · Boys Scholarships: Our studio offers half off all tuition with the exception of creative movement for boys up to age 18. · The school year will consist of (36) thirty-six weekly class sessions from Sept. 10, 2018 - June 15, 2019. Monthly tuition is based on the average of 3.6 classes per month. Some months have as few as (2) two weeks others have as many as (5) five. · There is no pro-rated tuition. There are no refunds, credits or transfers of tuition for missed classes, snow days or holiday breaks. We strongly encourage students to make up any missed classes. Students may make-up classes during the year with any other class of the same level or lower, even if it is not the same type of dance. · Tuition is due by the first lesson of the month. Payments may be made at the office, by mail or via telephone. It is the parent/guardian’s responsibility to make payments at the desk. We accept the following methods of payment: Cash, Check, Visa and MasterCard. · We no longer offer full year payment discounts. · Payments will be considered late on the 15th day of the month. A $10.00 Late Fee will be added to all accounts that carry a balance each month on any tuition/costume balance. THESE FEES WILL NOT BE WAIVED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. Classes will be suspended for all accounts that are over 30 days past due. A $30 fee is charged on all returned checks. · The studio reserves the right to deny students from participating in the recital, without a refund of costume or tuition monies, if absences are extreme and excessive. · Class days and times are subject to change based upon enrollment. · Students are to abide by studio dress code at all times. Students that are not properly dressed will be dismissed from class. · Closures due to inclement weather will be announced on our website and will be on our outgoing telephone voice mail. · Children ages 8 and under may not be left unattended at the studio, unless they are in class with an instructor. If a dancer, 8 years or younger has breaks in between classes, a parent or guardian must be present and within view of the child. · Any child, age 6 and under, may not be left unattended at the studio, at any time, regardless of whether or not they are in class. · If a student is left unattended, we will first call the parent or guardian. If the parent or guardian is not reachable, we will move to the emergency contact. There is absolutely no use of any studios that are vacant. Studio staff will close the doors and shut off the lights when a studio is not in use. Dancers are not permitted to enter these rooms.
