Referring to present situation of the country, Mr. Chaudhary said that the political meddling after mid-term election have jeopard- ized economic progress. “Our country had GDP growth of 8 percent and double revenue col- lection during 1993,” he said. We could have progressed a lot if we could concentrate on some creative works rather than petty issues,” Mr Chaudhary said. Chaudhary Group President affirmed that changes in the country are only possible if politics is in right path. “I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; and because I cannot do everything , I will not refuse to do something that I can do.”--Helen Keller (1880-1968); author, lecturer, activistMy father always told me to see the best in people. I have always believed that we are destined for greatness. But life can be like a grindstone; it either wears you down or polishes you up, depending on what you are made of. This is my appeal, and also on behalf of our foundation: the time has come-in fat we are setting late-to wake up and do something for the nation. Lead, follow, or get out of the way! We have created an awareness programme with the intention to have youth choose the right leader, and be the change we want to see.I have travelled across Nepal for the last decade, and in most places have got the im-pression that we are too laid back and happy with whatever we have. Being content is not enough! We must not ask our nation what it will do for us, or when will things get better—but get up and start doing. Every effort will count and make a difference. You might ask yourself why. Simply became owe it to our nation. We owe it to ourselves. Every effort, small or big, will help put our nation one step ahead. Then you might ask how. Find out what you are passionate about. Where do you get your creative high? Be honest. Be sincere. Have the conviction. Don’t turn back. Sooner or later you will re-alize your goal. Or else be a part of a team, a positive force. When? Now! If you are in the wrong place, relocate. Find what you are looking for. It’s never too late. Most of the young billionaires knew their passion and excelled because they had the edge and saw what other couldn’t. I know of many people who have realized this much later in life and worked towards becoming successful.I admire people who are very successful. But if that success has been achieved through ruthlessness, then I may admire that person, but I can’t respect him. We have been think-ing small, and if we look around us, countries like China have grown so much by thinking big. I would urge that we all, in the coming

years, think big, think of doing things not in small increments, not in small deltas, but seemingly impossible things. Nothing I im-possible if you really set out to do it prop-erly and act boldly. It is this thinking big and acting boldly that will move Nepal in a manner differ-ent from where it is today.Risk is a necessary part of business phi-losophy. You can be risk-averse, but this will affect the trajec-tory of your growth. Or you can, while being prudent, take greater risks in order to grow faster. I view risk as an ability to be where no one has been before. I view risk to be an issue of thinking big—something we did not do previously. We did everything in small increments, so we al-ways lagged behind. But the crucial question is; can we venture putting a man on the moon or risk billions of rupees on a really way out, advanced project in, say, superconductors? Do you restrict your risk to something close to your heart?I think we now face a tougher environment than the one 15 years ago. The demands are far greater, many sectors are moving fast, and technology change is quicker. The luxury of having time to make decisions no longer exists. Decisions need to be taken faster and, unlike in the past, they have to be based more on information, and less an intuition. The im-pact of bad decisions is greater today. Fur-thermore, people today are, if I might say so, more opportunistic, materialistic and rebel-lious. So you are managing a different type of environment: less protected, less feudal and more demanding in term of speed and technology.Business, as I have seen it, places one great demand on you: it needs you to impose a framework of ethics, values, fairness and ob-jectivity on yourself at all times. It is easy not to do this; you cannot impose it on yourself forcibly, because it has to become an integral part of you.Barriers to innovation are usually in the mind. If you are a little innovative or a bit of a gambler, and you make a product which is

either ahead of its time or has an evolution-ary design, or has features that work into a person’s perception, then you have an ac-ceptable product. My feeling is that in a developing country such as Nepal we should, perhaps, be more active in shedding some of the old baggage and embracing new opportunities. That’s easier said than done, because of peo-ple, emotions and a willingness to change, or be confronted with the question; why me?The vision I have for Nepal in the next decade is one of a nation with vastly improved con-nectivity in communications providing edu-cation, personal interaction, e-commerce, and telephony for the overwhelming mass of its people, I see our country being connect-ed through major highway networks, thus shrinking the time required to move goods to the marketplace. I see our consumers ex-ercising an unprecedented degree of choice, with the Nepali marketplace becoming a vi-brantly competitive arena, fully integrated with the world. Equally, I foresee that the ambitions of the Nepali entrepreneur will not be confined to domestic boundaries, and our immensely valuable human capital will leave its mark in the global marketplace. There are solutions for most problems. The barriers and roadblocks that we face are usually of our own making, and these can only be demolished by having the determina-tion to find a solution, even when it is contra-ry to the conventional wisdom that prevails around us.

Poem

A philosophy professor stood before his class with some items on the table in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly he picked up a very large and empty jar and proceeded to fill it with rocks, about 2 inches in diam-eter.He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.So the professor then picked up a box of peb-bles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles, of course, rolled into the open areas between the rocks. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.The professor picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up the remaining open areas of the jar.He then asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous “Yes.”“Now,” said the professor, “I want you to rec-ognize that this jar represents your life. The rocks are the important things – your family, your partner, your health, your children –

things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that mat-ter – like your job, your house, your car. The sand is everything else, the small stuff.”“If you put the sand into the jar first,” he continued, “there is no room for the pebbles or the rocks. The same goes for your life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take your partner out dancing. There will al-ways be time to go to work, clean the house, give a dinner party, or fix the disposal.”

“Take care of the rocks first – the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.”

Role of private sector in educational development of Nepal Concelated Within Myself

Set your priorities

Today’s world is highly competitive and due to this Nepalese society has also been very conscious regarding their future secu-rity. Students from Nepal have also started dreaming high in terms of quality educa-tion and practical approach in teaching and learning methodology. So far there are sever-al students pursuing their Education in pri-vate colleges which provide foreign degrees in Nepal. This shows enthusiasm of students to match up their level of education with in-ternational students. As such private organi-zation play crucial role in preventing brain drain. They have also helped to save flow of Nepalese currency abroad. Students from Nepal have been able to produce an excellent result which is also proof of quality educa-tion being provided in country.Government of Nepal should provide healthy environment for proper development of private sector. Also their mentality should be changed that private sector are only for motive of making profit. To sustain profit is necessary to some extent but contribution of private sector in development of nation should be realized and this should not be ne-glected. There are several Educational pro-grams which government is unable to oper-ate due to lack of infrastructure and proper funding. But private sectors have provided such programs to students with an opportu-nity to earn degree of their choice at cheaper

price within country. If political stability ex-ists in country then, like tourism Nepal can be educational hub for lot of international students. Government should not consider private organization only as means of gen-erating revenue. Rather focus should be on solving issues related with private institution such as security, rampant strike and quality monitoring. This will help in strengthening private sector and flourish educational sec-tor which in turn will help in development of our country. It’s now turn of Educationalist to unite for cause of meeting global challenge of educa-tional sector. There should be healthy com-petition with cooperation with in private or-ganizations. High quality education delivery should be focus rather than cheap means of advertisement to get short term benefit. Research activities, workshop, seminars and training activities should be promoted inside every educational institution. There should be unity among private organization, govern-ment and political parties before it is too late to build up nation through Education.

When you were aroundI felt nothing much like heaven

But, without youFelt like I lost what was my possession

As I read my own noteScrabbled every sentence

With so much smile that I once wroteTore into pieces

Every feeling that the page had ever withhold

Nothing came by to stopOnce your thought flew along more than just

a lotYears passed

Still I could see you enterEvery dream of mine - every summer; every

winter

It was then that I lost every feelingFor once this heart had

Nothing yet discovered with power of heal-ing

So much hiddenFrom that very day I had you in my life - con-

cealing

Many years has passedUntil today, I still have you suppressed

Deep down this heart loaded with emotionFelt like for long it still had to last…….!!

Brain Teasers...

Just let it goLife is full of joy and sorrow. Many people contemplate what is recipe to remain hap-py in life, irony it sounds but true. Every-one wants to be happy in life by achieving everything. Nobody wants to be desolate. But remaining happy is not everyone’s pie of share. You might be happy for a while by achieving something that you have been yearning for so long. Sometimes, this happiness doesn’t last long as your desires and expectations have no bound-ary. Many people believe money buys hap-piness, which is not always true. Money buys happiness for a fraction of life but won’t make you happy as de nition and quest for happiness expands. Money is not source of happiness but self satisfac-tion is. People who know his/her capabil-ity will always remain happy.Nobody achieves everything in life. Some-times you need to accept the fact that not everything or everyone meant to stay in life. You need to simply let it go to remain happy.
