As we embark on a new journey, let us look back at the memorable events of the last academic session.
Children’s Day celebration was a
memorable event full of fun-filled activities
and exclusive performances put up by the
students of Magnus Global School.
Celebrating the colour Green on July 27,2018 with the pre-primary students of Magnus Global School was a great experience that helped students to understand the importance of preserving the greenery around us.
The students commemorated the birth anniversary of Kabiguru Rabindranath
Tagore through myriad presentations on his rich compositions. The presentations
included Rabindra sangeet, mesmerizing dance performances and recitation of
his poems in Bengali and English. Students also paid their tribute to kabiguru by
narrating important events from his life.
To honour eternal motherhood, children of the pre-primary section
celebrated Mother’s Day with great zeal and enthusiasm. Mothers along
with their children participated in different fun activities on May
11,2018. They prepared colourful cards and played games. The
programme was an effort to create a sense of understanding and bonding
between the mother and the child.
Celebrating friendship on August 3, 2018 was an indelible activity in which students not only greeted their friends but also presented handmade cards to each other to realise the importance of the day and strengthen the bonds of friendship.
We celebrated the 72nd Independence Day on August 15, 2018 in honour of our great nation. We proudly
hoisted our Tiranga and the children performed heartily which made the day glorious and memorable.
On Grandparents’ Day, the pre-
primary students expressed their
love and gratitude to their
grandparents. They gave
handmade gifts to their
grandparents and staged
wonderful performances on this
day.
The students of Magnus Global
School won the second prize on the
Republic Day programme organised
by the District administration at
Police Line in Burdwan.
Magnus Global School was awarded the tittle of the “Best
Emerging School “at the 9th ‘Indian Education Congress and
Awards 2019’. The award was received by Mr. Rajesh Surana,

English Language Day - April 23

Parents’ Orientation Programme was an endeavour by Magnus Global School to sensitize parents about the needs of their children and help them understand the activity oriented and child-centric system of education followed by Magnus Global School.
To mark the importance of ‘Earth Day’, children at Magnus Global School sowed saplings with their own hands and watered the plants in the school garden. They shared this hands-on experience with their peers as well.
On the occasion of ‘English Language Day’, Magnus Global School initiated the ‘Drop Everything And Read’ programme across the classrooms to celebrate the practice of reading ‘English’ books and help students understand
the importance of ‘English’ as a global language. ‘DEAR’ was an innovative effort on the part of Magnus Global School that aimed to inculcate the habit of reading in the young learners for enrichment of thoughts to help them emerge as critical thinkers of tomorrow.
The 158th birth anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore was observed with great zeal and enthusiasm as students presented a bouquet of songs, dance, recitation, speeches and anecdotes from the life of Tagore to offer their homage to the eternal poet.
The ‘Story Writing Competition’ rendered wings to the imagination of the students of Standard VII to IX as they weaved a story with innovative thoughts and ideas.
The ‘Read and Draw’ activity was conducted for the students of Standard V and VI to facilitate them to interpret a story and give vent to their thoughts through pictures and sketches.
A special assembly was conducted to pay our tribute to ‘Mothers’, on this occasion in which, through a robust presentation of dialogues, students elucidated the role of ‘mothers’ in the lives of the great personages.

Better to be Suspicious
Richa was alone at home. Her parents had gone to attend a wedding ceremony. It was drizzling outside. Suddenly Richa heard a knock at the door. She felt it might be her parents. As she opened the door, she saw an old man standing at the door. Richa told the man that her parents were outside the town and will be returning on the next day. The old man told that he was her father’s cousin and had not met him for the last 15 years.
Richa was just eight years old and too young to understand the motive of a person. So, she let him come in and ran away to her own room, thus leaving the man alone. The ayah, who used to take care of Richa had already left in the evening owing to an emergency and did not come back. It was 9 o’ clock at night. Richa asked the man to serve the food that her mother had already kept for her. After having her dinner, she left for her own room while the man locked the door.
It was almost midnight. Everyone in the neighbourhood was fast asleep. The old man found the right time to do the things he intended to. He got up from the chair, took his duffle bag which he had kept at the corner of the living room and robbed everything - jewellery and a huge amount of cash. He had a bunch of hi-tech keys with which he was able to open the almirah and the lockers easily. Then he ran out of the house. He did not cause any harm to Richa. The news of the robbery was indeed shocking to Richa’s parents but the fact that she was safe, made them happy.

DEFINITIONS FOR A LIFETIME! The world adopted revised definitions of four units of measurements, including the kilogram, delinked from physical artefacts and relying instead on constants of nature. Now the Kilogram (standard unit of measurement), ampere (current), Kelvin (temperature) and mole (amount of substance) will be defined through constants of nature. A lump of platinum-iridium, a physical artefact that has changed now, had defined the kilogram. Now the kilogram will be defined through the Planck’s constant. The Planck’s constant relates energy in one photon of electromagnetic radiation to the frequency of radiation and is constant across the universe. From May 20, World Metrology Day the revised definitions are being implemented . Scientists say the revisions will not visibly alter anything for the public but might have long-term impacts on computing, electronics and aerospace among areas critically dependent on high precision measurements.
