ICERAYS UNVEIL SCHEDULE, NEW WEBSITE58-GAME REGULAR SEASON SCHEDULE BEGINS SEPTEMBER 15

The Corpus Christi IceRays announced their 2010-2011 regular season schedule forthe team’s first year of play in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) onTuesday morning. The IceRays 58-game schedule will begin on Wednesday,September 15 vs. the Traverse City North Stars. The IceRays first home game will beplayed at the American Bank Center on Friday, October 1 when they host the WichitaFalls Wildcats. All game times will be announced in the near future. On Tuesday theIceRays also unveiled their new website as part of the team’s move to the NAHL.Fans can visit the new site at www.goicerays.com or call the IceRays at361.814.PUCK for more information on the team’s schedule and the upcomingseason.The IceRays will kick off their inaugural season in the NAHL on September 15 aspart of the Eighth Annual NAHL Showcase, held in Blaine, Minnesota. All 26 NAHLteams will play four regular season games as part of the event. The IceRays will faceoff against Traverse City, Chicago, Owatonna, and Dawson Creek. While theShowcase provides the IceRays a chance to square off against competition fromaround the NAHL, the remainder of the schedule will be spent solidifying newrivalries for Corpus Christi. The IceRays will square off against division rivalsAmarillo, New Mexico, Wichita Falls, and Texas (Frisco) a dozen times each, withsix home games and six road games. They also will evenly split a six-game seasonseries with Topeka, rounding out the clubs that form the NAHL’s South Division.The IceRays regular season concludes on Sunday, March 27 at the American BankCenter when the IceRays host the New Mexico Mustangs. The IceRays will play 27 home games, 27 road games, and four neutral site games.Their season long home and road trips come early in the campaign. Starting with theirfirst ever home game in the NAHL on October 1, the IceRays open up a year-long,five-game home stand. 1/4 LB fresh mushrooms, sliced

2 Tbsp. chopped onion

1 Tbsp. diet margarine

1 Tbsp. flour

1 cup fat-free chicken broth or brown stock

1/2 cup skim milk

1/4 tsp. salt (optional)

1/4 tsp. nutmeg

1/8 tsp. white pepper

Method:

1. In saucepan, sauté sliced mushrooms and onion in margarine until tender.

2. Slowly add flour until blended. Gradually add broth and milk, stirring over medium heat, until thickened.

3. Add seasonings.

Serving Size: 3/4 cup

Yield: 4 servings

Exchanges Per Serving: 1 vegetable, 1/2 fat

Texas Unemployment Rate Drops to 8.2 Percent in JuneTexas employers add 166,100 jobs since January

AUSTIN —Texas seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped to 8.2 percent in June, down from8.3 percent in May, and continued to trend well below the U.S. seasonally adjusted unemployment rate of9.5 percent for the same month. Texas total nonagricultural employment grew by 14,000 jobs in June for a total of 166,100 jobs gained since the beginning of 2010.

“Texas employment has grown every month in 2010,” said Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) Chairman Tom Pauken. “Notably, Texas employers in goods producingindustries added jobs in the month of June, which included gains in Manufacturing, Construction, and Mining and Logging.”

The Education and Health Services industry recorded the highest increase in June, with 8,900 jobs added, followed by Professional and Business Services, which increasedby 8,600 jobs.

“While I am encouraged by the decrease in the Texas unemployment rate, times are tough for Texas workers and their families,” said TWC Commissioner Representing LaborRonny Congleton. “Job seekers should turn to WorkInTexas.com and our workforce centers across Texas for reemployment and support services.”

In June, Manufacturing added 5,700 jobs, Construction grew by 4,800 jobs, and Mining and Logging increased by 2,900 jobs. Employment in the Trade, Transportation andUtilities industry was up by 3,000 jobs, and Information added 800 jobs.

“Seven industries added jobs in June including Professional and Business Services, Manufacturing, and Construction – that’s positive news for Texans seeking newopportunities,” said TWC Commissioner Representing the Public Andres Alcantar. “TWC and the 28 local workforce boards are committed to helping job seekers find theseopportunities, and to helping employers with an array of services they need to run their businesses.”
