r e e t i n g s i n t h e marvelous name of Jesus Christ, the captain of our salvation and soon-coming King.

Indeed, what a privilege given us to come into another year, with new challenges, tests, trials as well as new opportunities to exercise more faith in God. For we can truly say as in Ps. 124:2-3, “If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us: Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us.” God continues to prove to us over and over, if

A Word from Our Editor -Sister Marilyn Silver

The Secret Place

Glory, Honor and Praise to the Almighty God (Jesus Christ). He is our Savior. We are blessed to see another year, another day, another chance to worship and bless that wonderful name of Jesus. Last year brought joy, happiness, sadness, tests and trials, but nevertheless, we are still here and we were never left alone. Our Lord and Savior was with us every step of the way. Through it all, He brought us all the way. The lessons we learn through tests and trials will build us up for the hills and valleys we face around the curves. Many times we can’t see the road ahead but we move forward in faith. We can’t hear the roars of danger ahead, but we don’t have to worry for God takes good care of us. The Word of the Lord reminds us that we walk by faith and not by sight. It’s a faith walk and we can’t give up now. No one knows

what 2013 holds for us. But we know who holds the future, Jesus Christ, and we know He holds our hand. Entering into a new year, with new expectations and new goals, will have its challenges. In the midst of it all we can hear God saying, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God; in him will I trust.” (Psalm 91:1-2). Let us consider our ways in these last and evil days and focus even more on the Word of God, keeping our eyes on the Lord. How can we follow Him if we don’t know what He requires? How can we please Him if we don’t know what pleases Him? Let’s forget about ourselves and concentrate on Him. He made us, He set in place the blueprint that He wants us to follow, the Word of God. If we refuse to study the Bible,

if we refuse to turn down our plates and fast, if we refuse to seek His will, if we refuse to pray, then we refuse His Great Plan of Salvation and we walk by sight not by Faith, but on our own. Remember 2013 is not a time to move on our own. We know that there are many unanswered questions today, many situations that the government scrambles to solve -but to no avail, problems that social programs can’t fix, first responders can’t resolve and we can’t figure out. This alone lets us know that our hope is not in man, but in the Lord, and our secret place is in God’s will. Everything that that we need is in Christ Jesus. We can’t afford to ignore the pull of God in our lives this year- we can run but we can’t hide. Let’s allow 2013 to spark a Holy Ghost revival in US! Stay in the Secret Place...the will of God.

Will You be Ready When Jesus Comes?

Praise the Lord Everyone. I thank God for all of His blessings. I wasn’t given the ok to join you at church, but I have always thanked God for all His blessings. As many of you know, I have been having problems with my knee since March of this year. But I have had no doubt in God through the surgeries. Being in rehab has been a blessing in itself. I have preached on certain Sundays, and I have prayed for mostly 80% of the patients. Being here has taught me that although you have pain and suffering, you cannot allow yourself to be caught up in the negative. January 1, 2013 will be the day I will be going home. January is the first month of the

new year. How we enter the new year will have a great impact on the rest of the year. If you go into the new year burdened depressed

and with negative thoughts, unless you ask God to help you, your new year will be on a downward slope. But if we go into the new year with praise, thankfulness, and a positive attitude we will be in a better place with God and for future blessings. Let us not simply make a New Year’s resolution but a

promise to God. A promise that we will give Him more praises, attend church services faithfully, witness to those that God will allow and be more Christ-like. For it is my desire to be just what he wants me to be. We don’t have a lot of time before He comes for us in the rapture. Let us not focus on things in the past, but on preparing ourselves for Christ’s return for the church. Young people, remember a lot of people are dying and some funerals are for people your age. The Lord is soon to come. It won’t be long. We are leaving here. Are you ready? Don’t keep telling yourself, “I have plenty of time.” No, no, no the time is near. Get in the service with all your might. Temple of Deliverance, I ask you will you be ready when Jesus comes?

Temple Men Speak -Deacon Junius Marshall

“AM I OUT OF PLACE?”

Happy New Year and Greetings to All. Yes, God has let us enjoy another Christmas, another year and into a New Year. Now (WHERE ARE WE?) The beginning of a new year, the first book of the Bible…Genesis 3:8-9. “And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden. And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, (WHERE ART THOU?)” We like to think on the things we have seen and been taught, things like a cook in the kitchen, a mechanic in his garage. The good cook always wants to use clean utensils that are in their proper place. The mechanic with his tools, when he finishes using them, wipes them down and puts them in their proper place, so when he needs them again, he doesn’t have to look for them, because he knows where they are. That mechanic can even tell when someone else has been in his garage and used his tools. God knows when we are

used by someone (the devil.) He knows WHERE WE ARE. These utensils and these tools, when they are clean and in the right place can be used anytime as desired, the user doesn’t have to look for them, doesn’t have to clean them up, but they are ready any available time. We are to be like those utensils or those tools; whenever God wants to use us, we are clean, available and ready for service. ---NOT HIDING AMONGST THE TREES--- that God has to call out to us (WHERE ART THOU??) ? May God continue to bless and keep you.

2 Corinthians 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye

separate, said the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.

To the Women of TOD

Acts 2:42-And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of

bread, and in prayers.

My dear mothers and sisters in Christ, always remember that you are precious in the sight of the Lord. You are saved, blessed, blood washed, and

elect. Apostolic is not a denomination, it is a doctrine. The

true doctrine of God’s church. Continue steadfastly in it, and you

will inherit a crown of life. This poem is dedicated to you, God’s Apostolic

Women!

APOSTOLIC WOMAN (Adapted by Michelle O Smith,

Sisterhood, President -from Phenomenal Woman

by Maya Angelou)

Worldly women wonder where my secret lies

My positive outlook they covet and yet despise

And when I start to tell them

They think I'm telling lies. I say,

It's in the reach of my prayer The span of my faith The stride of my path

The God who lights my way I'm a woman

Spiritually Apostolic Woman

That's me.

I walk into a room Just as cool as you please

My mind at peace My heart at ease

If I’ve had a bad day I work it out on my knees

I say, It's the Holy Ghost fire The Anointing so quick

The strength of my praise And the dance in my jig.

I'm a woman Spiritually

Apostolic Woman That's me.

Men have always known

What they see in me “Good women are found in church

It’s the place to be” But without God they can’t know

My inner mystery. I let them know:

“Get saved or it just can’t be.” I say,

It's in the salvation of my soul The grace in my life

You need it too Before I can be your wife.

I'm a woman Spiritually

Apostolic Woman That's me.

Now you understand

Why my head's not bowed Why I stand tall and strong

And don’t need to talk real loud When you see me passing

It ought to make you proud. I say, It's in the flow of my skirt

The hat that I wear The testimony I give

God’s love that I share. 'Cause I'm a woman

Spiritually Apostolic Woman

That's me.

The Temple of Deliverance celebrated the Veterans for their sacrifices to our country and abroad. Many served several years of duty to defend the freedom and rights of others. Their selfless contributions and struggles were honored by the standing ovations and applause given by the crowd that gathered on Sunday, November 11th. Pastor Beanum offered words of encouragement and recognition to each one as they stood at the altar. The ex-soldiers demonstrated a marching drill in remembrance of the training they endured during their tenure. A Veterans Recognition Dinner was held in their honor following the morning worship. We thank God for each one of them who served in the different military branches. God blessed and covered them while they traveled many miles to serve and gave them a safe return home. Our prayer is that God will continue to keep those who are still enlisted safe and bring them home to their loved ones.

Please keep all our veterans everywhere and their families in your prayers.

Those in attendance were: (left to right) Carlton Whitfield, Ralph A. Kay, Richard Beanum, Travis Lucas, LeRoy Middleton, Thomasina Davis, Steve Dubois, William Cook & Clinton Porter, Sr. Those absent were: Joan Adams, Candice Anderson, Mitchell Anderson, Jr, Kylesia Cheatum, Brian Dobson, Donald Goss, Askia Horne-Pierre, Theodore Hudson, Edward Jones, Jennifer Largen, Junius Marshall III, Timothy Marshall, Tina McRae, Cornelius Pendleton, Benjamin White, & Bernette Woolfolk,

Temple Distributes Food Boxes to

Local Communities

The Temple Family was excited to pack boxes and bags of food and turkeys to donate to the community families for Thanksgiving. Children and adults volunteered their time and funds, to cover boxes, shop for food, pack and deliver boxes with love and care to those in the surrounding counties.

(Over 35 boxes were donated. )

The scripture tells us in Hebrews 13: 16 “But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.” Let’s be available to help wherever we can and to communicate with those in need as we press forward along this journey –pointing souls to Christ.

Christmas Caroling and Christmas Bags

During the Christmas Holidays, the Temple

Family -men, women, boys and girls- journeyed to

Health Care Facilities to deliver the word of God, songs

of praise and gift bags to the centers. Over 80 bags

were distributed to three surrounding centers. The

residents were excited and waiting expecting to hear a

word from the Lord, a song of praise or a Christmas

carol to glorify God. They joined in as the songs went

forth. Some began to raise their hands in praise unto

the Lord, and asked that another song be sung and

then another. To God be all the glory, not only for

allowing us to travel safely to visit those unable to get

out, but HE reminded us that HE is there all the time,

looking out for those in need and caring for those that

are lonely.

Let’s continue to keep those in the Health Care

and Rehab Centers in our prayers. Remember to pray

always for the many souls that are

unable to assemble together in the

service as we are.

May God’s blessings upon you

- motivate you to bless others.

Nothing can prepare a husband to receive news of a wife’s terminal illness, but, if you and your wife face this with the right attitude, it can become one of the most rewarding experiences you will ever share. The husband’s life is going to change. Some husbands choose to gloss over their wife’s problem. Other husbands jump right in and take an active part in the process. Then there are husbands who are a combination of both. They may leave the decisions about treatment up to the wives, but they are there for support. The first question that may cross your mind may be, “Will we still be together this time next year?” Then you will come back to reality and begin to face the fears together. If you do not feel comfortable with the diagnosis or treatment, seek a second opinion.

Once treatment begins, you may get more overwhelmed than you ever could have imagined. You will need to be there to help your wife do things that she can no longer do alone. If you have small children and a job, your work will seem endless, and you will find that there is no time in the day for you. If this goes on for a long time, you may get caregiver burnout. You may find that you have to neglect yourself to get a routine set, but once this is in place, try to take time for yourself. It helps you to keep your sanity. Caregiver burnout is one of the results of taking care of your mate. If you are burned out, taking care of your wife will be that much more difficult.

You will want to be rested and keep your wife safe and as healthy as possible, so having a plan for dealing with the extra stress will help the home environment. Don’t forget to take care of yourself while you go through.

Father, keep us reminded that our bodies are Your temples and that we are not our own. You bought us, and you expect us to take care of ourselves. Love you Caregivers.
