Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Rector BU and Pro-Rector BU along with the conference speakers and reps of Bahria University

Bahria University Islamabad held a two days International Conference on ̀ Role of Universities in Building Global Citizens (RUBGC) on 22 & 23 April, 2015. The Conference provided a platform for academicians, researchers, practitioners and stu-dents to learn and share knowledge. It

covered different themes, which Included: challenges and opportuni-ties of a globalized curriculum, creat-ing global values free of fear and prej-udice, preparing students for the global workplace and technology.

Chairman Higher Education

Commission, Dr Mukhtar Ahmad graced the inaugural session of the conference as Chief Guest. While speaking to the audience, he said that there should be no doubt that youth are the future of Pakistan, a modern progressive Pakistan and free of prej-udice. If you absorb these values, you

will also become the future of world as these are global val-ues. He also said that it is the time to empower stu-dents so they can realize their own potential and can contribute in a better way.

In his open-ing speech Pro-Rector BU, Rear Admiral (Retd) Saleem Akhtar HI (M) briefed the audience about objective of the conference. He said that the Conference aimed at popularizing the idea of global citizenship and provid-ing a catalyst for transition to the era

of nationalism to the idea of interna-tionalism. This can help students to actively help shape their lives and the environment they live in. Federal Minister of Planning and Development, Planning Commission of Pakistan, Prof. Ahsan Iqbal was the Chief Guest on the closing day. The key note speakers of the conference, H.E. Mr Peter Heyward, Australian High Commissioner-Islamabad, Dr D a v i d R o w l a n d , V a l p a r a i s o University-USA, Mr Douglas Meikle, York St. John University-UK, Dr Peter Woods, Director International, Griffith University-AUS, Dr Kathleen Lilley, School of Public Health-Griffith, Professor Michelle Barker, Griffith University-AUS, shed light on the challenges being confronted by educational institutions for incorpo-rating a globalized curriculum.

The two-day constructive Conference received well-deserved gratitude from all the attendees.

Career Expo' 2015 Bahria University Islamabad Campus (BUIC) organized Career Expo'15 on 4th March 2015. It brought together job seekers and employers and also facilitated in guid-ing the candidates about their career path and innovative job hunt tactics.

On this occasion, Human Resources experts from renowned organiza-tions updated on HR demands, entry require-ment and career prospects. Pro-Rector BU, Rear Admiral (Retd) Saleem Akhtar HI (M) inaugu-rated the event. Various well known organizations i n c l u d i n g T e l e n o r Pakistan, Mari Petroleum, Nayatel, Beaconhouse School, MCB AH Savings

and Investments, Askari Bank, Haidri Beverages PVT Limited, Synergy Advertising, Channel 7, Bahria Town, PPAF, SNL Financial, Wi-Tribe, PTCL and many other graced the event with their presence.

Job Fair is a cost-effective way for

the organizations to directly interact with prospective candidates and recruit the required talent without going through hassle of conventional hiring practices. BU consistently plans such productive events.

Bahria University has a persis-tent focus on quality improvement. It takes well-timed initiatives to main-tain standards by conducting Workshops, Seminars and Guest Lectures on regular basis. As a capac-ity building exercise, Quality

Enhancement Cell invited Brig (Retd) Engr. Salim Ahmed Khan, Director Quality Enhancement, Riphah International University to deliver a lecture on “Improving Relevance and Quality of Undergraduate Education” In his lecture, He briefed the audience

about the mechanism and the good practices through case studies. He also stated the significant role of dif-ferent stakeholders including Faculty and Students to improve the quality of education. Pro-Rector BU, Rear Admiral (Retd) Saleem Akhtar HI (M), Directors, Research Scholars & Faculty Members attended this pro-ductive lecture. In addition, Brig (Retd) Engr. Prize Distribution Ceremony of

Bahria University held a Prize Distribution Ceremony of National Mobile Apps Competition (NMAC-2015) on 29th April 2015 at BUIC. “In-novative Apps for the Public Sector” was the theme for the competition. On this occasion, Prof. Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister , P lanning , Development & Reforms awarded the winners of NMAC'15. Four hundred and seventy BU students submitted their ideas, out of which Faizan Khan got first prize, while Shaharyar Khan and Syed Uzair Ahmed and Ameen Jafri obtained second, third and

fourth position respectively.

While speaking to the audience, Prof. Ahsan Iqbal congratulated the winners and said that Ministry has initiated this Competition to set-up a strategic direction for the future. He also stated that through technology, innovation and entrepreneurship, we can rise as a competitive nation. Honourable Rector BU, in his speech, declared to make this competition BU's annual event by the next year, which will be titled as “Ministerial Innovation Cup”.

Department of Professional Psychology, Bahria University Islamabad arranged a seminar on “Significance of Research in Psychology” on 4 March 2015 at the university premises. Ms Mahnazir Riaz (Retd) Dean of Social Science,

Shaheed Benazir Women University was the guest speaker of the session. While speaking on the occasion, she highlighted the importance of research in Clinical Psychology for the students of MS & PhD level. She also shed light on the psychometrics prop-

erties and its implication in the research. At the end of the seminar, Dr Uzma Masroor, HOD Professional Psychology presented the souvenir to the worthy guest speaker.

Bahria University Bahria University Bahria University Bahria University promotes aca-demic alliances with the International Universities and realizes its impor-tance to enhance quality of education. It also facilitates learning from diverse culture. Keeping in view the implications, BU invites various for-eign delegations very often. Prof Shabbar Jaffery, from Portsmouth University, UK, visited Bahria University Islamabad on 12 March 2015. He is a senior faculty member of Economics in the Business School of Portsmouth University. During his visit, Prof Jaffery delivered a lecture on "Developing a Management Tool to Assist Manpower Planners: A

Personal Research Journey”. BU Faculty members and students of Management Sciences enthusiasti-cally attended this lecture.

Similarly, Ms Carole Still Head of P r o f e s s i o n a l D e v e l o p m e n t Entrepreneurship, Enterprise & Skills at Coventry University, UK vis-ited BU on 30 March, 2015. During

her visit, she met the Honourable Rector BU and discussed the opportunities of academic collab-oration among both the institu-tions. In addi-tion, she deliv-ered a lecture on " B e i n g m o r e employable at h o m e a n d abroad" to the students. She also had another

informative session with the HODs and faculty members BULC, where she discussed the cogni-tive learning behav-ior of the students.

The delegation com-prised three members including Dr Rahat Munir, Deputy Head of D e p a r t m e n t o f A c c o u n t i n g a n d Corporate Governance, Mr Matt Monkhouse,

Regional Director -Asia & Mr Tanveer Shaheed, Senior Country Manager-Asia. During the meeting with Honourable Rector BU, they also talked about probable cooperation in academic activities as well as conduct of joint seminars/conferences. Moreover, some speakers of International Conference held at BU during 22-23 April, 2015 also con-ducted educational workshops after attending the Conference.

D r N a d i a T a h i r H o D , M a n a g e m e n t Sciences BUIC went for a Joint Research Project with York St. John University, UK for a week, starting from 24 March to 1 April 2015. During her visit, different Ethnographic tech-niques were used to explore how to improve the teaching pedagogy. Various brain storming sessions were held to discuss and improve the teach-ing practices adopted by different Higher Education Institutes around

the world.

As part of follow-up to her research stay in UK, Mr Douglas Meikle, Senior Lecturer York St. John University, U K v i s i t e d B a h r i a U n i v e r s i t y . Throughout his visit, Mr Douglas observed the teaching practices of Management Science at BU to under-stand the teaching pedagogies in Pakistani Universities through ethnographic research. He also deliv-ered a lecture on “How to calculate profits” to the BU students.

BU organized an enlight-ening session on study oppor-tunities in Germany for its students on 3 March, 2015. The session was mainly tar-

geted to the final year stu-dents of undergraduate, post-graduate programs who seek their further studies in G e r m a n y . M r U s a m a

BUIC arranged the Distribution Ceremony of Prime Minister's Laptop Scheme Phase II in collab-oration with Higher Education Commission on 15th April 2015. Five hundred and forty three students have received Laptops and Evo devices up till now. Mr Tariq Fazal Choudhary, MNA (NA) graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest. While addressing the students he said that now it is their responsibil-ity to use these assets for useful purpose and help Pakistan to prosper dynamically.

Honorable Rector, Vice Admiral (Retd) Tanveer Faiz HI (M), repre-sented Bahria University in New Zealand in March 2015. He visited under the HEC organized learning

visit in collaboration with Education New Zealand in which, Vice Chancellors/Rectors of selected educa-tional institutes of Pakistan were invited. The purpose of this visit was

to explore the prospects of academic alliance with the Universities of New Zealand.

BU takes well-timed initiatives for the development of its HR and values learning from growing diverse Institutions. A delegation of Bahria University visited Yasar University, Turkey, Durham University & University of Bedfordshire, UK for twelve days starting from 20 March to 1 April 2015. It comprised four members including Registrar BU, Director Human Resource, Director Quality Assurance & Public Relation Officer. It was aimed at capacity building of BU administrative staff in order to follow the international practices to support aca-demic functions of the Bahria University. In addition, vari-ous collaborative prospects were explored.

Similarly, another delegation from BU, with the same objective including Director BUIC, Director Planning &

Development and Director Admissions visited Griffith University & Macquarie University for nine days, 11 to 19 April 2015.

IBA Music OlympiadIBA Music OlympiadIBA Music Olympiad BU's renowned and very talented Rapper and Hip-Hop performer, Syed Abdul Haseeb contributed in IBA Music Olympiad as Rap Contest Judge. Institute of Business Administration hosted this mega event dur-ing 9 to 11 April 2015. It is considered as one of the biggest institutional music festivals in Pakistan. More than a thousand participants from dif-ferent colleges and universities from all over the coun-try took part in it. On the final day, on the organizers request , Syed Abdul Haseeb per-formed one of his popular tracks “I'm a Muslim”.

Bahria University Islamabad Campus (BUIC) in collaboration with WWF Pakistan observed the Earth Hour on 28th March 2015. BU turned off all lights of the Campus from 8:00 to 9:00 pm in order to honour Earth. Through this activity,

Moreover, to create awareness among the students, related posters were affixed on the walls of the Campus. Students were also asked to write positive messages for the society, which were later shared on social website for mass awareness. To benefit the society through any possible means, WWF has always conducted diverse activities all over the world, this is one of the instance.

BU always gives confidence to the spirit of serving society. With the aim to help in a humanity cause, BSS 3 & LLB 3 along with LLB course coordinator, joined Shoukat Khanum Memorial Trust team on walk for cause campaign. It was car-ried out on 19 April 2015. Students from vari-ous other universities participated in this drive. They went mid-way up on trail 6 on the Margalla hills and hiked back down with great enthusiasm. Shoukat Khanum team applauded the students and presented gifts hampers through lucky draw.

Maximize Your Potential

BULC believes in educating its faculty, students and staff on a wide range of academic matters through well-planned workshops and seminars, as a regular feature. Such forums provide unique opportunities to the partici-pants to thoroughly debate relevant prospects besides resulting in enhanced mutual learning and worthwhile actions. A recent initiative includes organization of a series of seminars aimed at bringing industry professionals and

academicians together that would result in a wonderful blend of academic knowledge and industry practice. The first seminar of the series was organized on 11 March 2015 in which Dr Mubashar Nadeem, Director Research, University of Education was invited as Guest Speaker to dilate on the topic “Maximize your Potential”. Students not only participated in discussions but also took part in vari-ous paper exercises prepared by the worthy speaker as inte-gral to the lecture. The session ended with a note of thanks by the Director Campus. Certificates of participation were also distributed among students and staff. This session marked a wonderful start for the students to benefit from apprentice teaching and provided a forum for teachers to update and design their courses regularly.

Bahria University has always been supportive in extending a helping hand to the civil society and contributing towards community support pro-grams. Fifteen students from BULC including 4 girls and 11 boys, partici-pated as volunteers in coordinating a play, “Phir Wohi Mohabbat” that was organized by a Lahore based NGO named, “Voice Society for Special Person”. The society is an appendage to Pakistan Society for rehabilitation for disabled (PSRD) and has taken many such initiatives in the past as well. The play was conducted at the Alhamra Art Council on 20th March 2015 and its basic purpose was to serve as a fund-raising event for the welfare of the disabled community. It was a proud privilege for the university to have the worthy Director Campus, Cdre (Retd) Amjad Zaman SI (M) as the Chief Guest of the play. The play ended with a few words by the Director Campus and a donation of Rs. 50,000 was made by BULC in the society's name.

Bahria University Lahore Campus hosted the National Mobile App Competition Pakistan on 10 March 2015. The main theme of the competition was, “Innovative Apps for Good Governance” and its purpose was to get new ideas on how Information Technology can be used in improving the G2G, G2C and C2C services. This being the first ever app competition in Pakistan organized by the

Planning Commission of Pakistan in coordination with the private sector. Students from different universities in Lahore participated in the form of groups and presented their brilliant ideas and out-of-the-box working prototypes to judges from big multinational companies like Microsoft and Telenor.

Bahria University Karachi C a m p u s , D e p a r t m e n t o f Management Sciences organized a two days Bahria University National Conference (BUNC-2015). The event took place at Karachi Campus on 16 & 17 April 2015.

Mr Tashfeen K Niaz, Chairman Sindh Revenue Board inaugurated the Conference as Chief Guest. Various renowned intellectuals and industrialist/ businessman were invited to speak on the theme “Role of Private Sector in Socio Economic Development of Pakistan.” It was pri-marily aimed at highlighting the role of private sector in the economic wellbeing of the country, exploring its new role and to deliberate on develop-ing a strong alliance between acade-mia and private sector.

In his opening speech, Mr Tashfeen K Niaz, emphasized on edu-cational institutions to focus more on

research and innovation in order to meet future challenges. He also said that private sector can play a dynamic role in the socio economic develop-ment of Pakistan.

An Entrepreneurship Seminar titled “A path to success” was held on 7th March, 2015. Mr. Faisal Bin Badar, who is a qualified engineer and an experienced professional, was the session Trainer. He educated the students of BUKC how to emerge as entrepreneurs, expert engineers and managers. While on 17 March 2015, Mr Nabeel A. Qadeer, Project Manager PLAN9 conducted another session on “Entrepreneurship”, in which He taught about the techniques and procedures of opening of new ven-ture.

In the same way, BUKC invited Mr Rehan Allahwala on 23 April 2015 to speak on Power of Networking and Entrepreneur Ecosystem. Mr Allahwala is the Founder and President of over 50 Ventures around the world including countries like United States, Malaysia, Singapore, UAE and Pakistan. It was an infor-mative session and a large number of students eagerly attended.

BUKC held Bahria University Model United Nations 2015 on 13-15 March 2015. Model United Nations is an academic simulation that aims to provide students with a political, stra-tegic, and economic perspective of the world. Debates on different interna-tional issues allow students to gain an insight into the current affairs of the world at large. Earlier in 2012, it was first executed by a team of students under the guidance of Mr Khurram Adeel Shaikh-Faculty member of the Management Science Department.

Walk on World Water Day The department of Earth and Environmental Science held a Walk on World Water Day on 24 March 2015, from Bahria University Karachi Campus to Aga Khan Hospital. The main aim of this walk was to familiarize everyone about the water & its sustainable development. This was attended by faculty members, students, administrative staff and the rep-resentatives of oil industry.

World water day is the basically an annual wakeup call to the world. The day draws the atten-tion of the common public towards the depletion of this vital resource. Department of Earth and Environmental Science BUKC takes well timed initiatives to create awareness on such imperative issues. This walk is one of such examples.

B a h r i a F i n a n c e Olympiad (BFO) is an inno-vative educational step by Bahria University Karachi Campus to provide stu-dents with a financial per-spective of the market. Mock set up of the Stock Exchange gave students better insight about pur-chasing and selling of stocks. Earlier, this initiative

was started with the intention to develop a platform for students where they can experi-ence real market concept. This year BFO'15 under the presidency of Jawad Ahmed Janjua, a student of MBA was held on 25 April 2015 at the Campus. Sixty teams, each having 5-6 members participated in the event.

Among all the teams, “Clashers” were announced as the overall winner of the event. In his closing remarks, Commodore Mohsin Hayat Malik TI (M), Director BUKC, appreciated all the students and distributed prizes among the winners.

2015 at the Campus. It was meant to contribute towards Continuous Program Development (CPD) activi-ties under PEC and training about how to design enterprise application with scalability. Various engineers registered with PEC and BU students from C&SE attended the workshop. Similarly, an In-House faculty devel-

opment session on “Turnitin” was held on 22 April 2015 at BUKC, which was facilitated by Syed Rizwan Ali. He is a certified Master Trainer (MT-FPDP) from Department of Learning Innovation, Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad.

Students of Computer Science, BUKC participated in 10 Pearls Developers Day 2015, hosted by FAST- NUCES, Karachi on 17 March 2015. Rabia Irshad, BS student obtained third position in the competition titled “10 Minutes of Tech”. She confidently presented her inno-vative idea of “Automatic Voting System” within 10 min-

utes and impressed the audience and juries. Various uni-versities from Karachi participated in this competition. Moreover, Faiza Kanwal, another BS student, competed in one-to-one IQ quiz competition held under the banner of Wavetech and also won prize.

National Centre for Maritime Policy Research (NCMPR) organized a Maritime Discourse on the topic “The Future of Gwadar” at Bahria University on 20th March, 2015. The core objective to conduct this dis-course was to shed light on the signifi-cance of Gwadar Port and the role it can play to boost the economy of Pakistan in future. Gwadar port offers multi-dimensional advantages and will inuence the geo-strategic and economic environment in the region.

The CEO of China Overseas Port Holding Company Mr. Zeng Qingsong was the keynote speaker. He high-lighted the significance of the Gwadar Port in the future. He said that “Gwadar is strategically located in proximity of major shipping routes emanating from Gulf. Gwadar and Pakistan China Economic Corridor are important for both China and Pakistan.”

gave a comprehensive presentation and briefed the hinterland connectiv-ity of Gwadar Port.

Moreover, DG NCMPR Vice Admiral (Retd) Asaf Humayun HI (M), in his closing remarks said that “Gwadar is inching towards its development at a slow pace whereas the whole nation desired to see the progress and pros-perity at a much faster pace. Two things will actually determine that how fast Gwadar can progress, one is security and the other is connectiv-ity”. Development of HR at NCMPR NCMPR facilitates the develop-ment of its Human Resource as well. For this deliberated purpose, NCMPR nominated Ms Sadia Sherazi, Research Associate, to attend a five days Training course titled “Training Techniques for Trainers”. The train-ing was held during 6-10 April, 2015 at Pakistan Institute of Management. The Director NCMPR, Captain (R) Tariq Masood, being the visiting Faculty of NCMPR also attended this course.

Correspondingly with the same objective, Ms Tabassum Naz, Staff officer (Publication) and Ms Mehar-un-nisa, Research Assistant, NCMPR

have also been given an opportunity to enhance their capacity in the mari-time domain through a certification course on “Fundamentals of Maritime

Sector.” Duration of this course is four months, which is expected to be completed in July 2015.

NCMPR Holds Short Capacity Building Courses

Short courses are a great way to fill the gaps in once knowledge and give a competitive edge. These provide long term benefits and advance competen-cies of individuals. NCMPR holds such sessions from time to time. A short course on “Incoterms 2010” was held at NCMPR on 18 April 2015. It was a complimentary capacity build-ing session, sponsored by Pakistan International Freight Forwarding association (PIFFA). More than hun-dred participants from industry and

The dental section of Bahria University Medical and Dental College (BUM&DC), warmly wel-comed the new DG BUM&DC Vice Admiral (Retd) Tehseenullah Khan HI (M), Principal dental section Prof. Dr Zubair Ahmed Abbasi and the new intakes to the BDS family, third batch of BDS (2015-2018) on 11 April 2015. On this occasion, one of the senior stu-dents of the college briefed to the new comers about the establishment of BUM&DC. Some entertaining perfor-mances and segments were also planned. In addition, Dr Kulsoom Fatima Rizvi, Vice Principal and HoD Community Dentistry gave a formal welcome speech and presented souve-

nirs to the honorable Chief Guests as a token of gratitude from the Dental faculty. The memorable event was con-

cluded with the cake cutting cere-mony and group photograph.

World Oral Health Day (WOHD) is celebrated every year on the 20th March. It is an international day to celebrate the benefits of a healthy mouth and to promote awareness of the issues around oral health and the importance of looking after oral hygiene. This year the theme for

WOHD was 'Smile for life'. BUM&DC has always played a prom-inent role in facilitating patients with oral health care needs. The dental sec-tion held 2nd celebration of WOHD on 19 & 20 March 2015, focusing on pre-vention, diagnosis and treatment of oral diseases, prevalent in our com-munity to reinforce the importance of oral healthcare. The campaign involved participation from faculty

members, students and general pub-lic in collaboration with Shield Corporation. The activities included, a two-day free dental checkup at the dental OPD which engaged faculty from every department and attracted a good number of patients. Patients were screened for caries, periodontal

d i s e a s e , tooth loss and other oral condi-tions along with the pro-vision of free counseling and treat-m e n t . Moreover, oral hygiene k i ts were distributed among the patients.

In addition, a seminar was also held and attended by entire faculty members and students. It was hosted by Dr Nida Siddique, Incharge Oral Biology. Dr Syed Faizan, Lecturer in Oral Surgery presented the opening address, which was followed by pre-sentations on 'Prevention of Oral Diseases' by Dr Kulsoom Fatima Vice

Principal and HoD Community Dentistry, 'Oral Conditions in Life of a Woman' by Dr. Saifullah Khan, Senior Registrar Oral medicine in Ziauddin Dental Hospital and 'Smile for Life' by Safia Anwar, student of third year BDS.

The program ended with the pres-idential address of Prof. Dr Zubair Abbasi, Principal Dental Section and HoD Oral Surgery and presentation of shields to the key speakers by Director General Vice Admiral (Retd) Tehseenullaah Khan.

I n s t i t u t e o f Professional Psychology (IPP) also comprehends the need for developing its faculty and students through trainings and workshops based on updated knowledge. Keeping in view the objective, it organizes seminars, workshops and also sends its faculty to attend such outdoor events. Mr Khurram Adil Sheikh was invited at the IPP on 2 March 2015 to conduct a workshop on Zotero. It is a reference management software, to manage bibliographic data and related research materials (such as PDF files). Dr Zainab Hussain Bhutto, Dr Tahira Yousuf, Dr Kiran Bashir Ahmad, Ms Batool Fatima, MsNaima Fatima Shariff and MS Students attended this useful work-shop.

On 18 March 2015 a seminar on nonverbal communication “The Unspoken” was organized at IPP, which was coordinated by Ms Hira Syed. Presentations regarding impact, effec-tiveness and improve-ments of nonverbal com-munication in our daily lives, handshakes, for-mal presentations, power posing and lecture deliv-ery were presented dur-ing the session. In the same way, Mr Zulqarnain Asghar was invited at IPP to conduct a guest speaker session on Interview skills on 7 March 2015. During the two hours interactive session, stu-dents learnt about the basic interview skills for psychologists. The speaker utilized role plays to familiarize stu-dents with a variety of therapeutic sit-uations. The session was coordinated by Ms. Naima Fatima Shariff.

and Ms Naima Fatima Shariff, faculty member, conducted a workshop on Stress Management for deployed naval officers and sailors at Sujawal on 20 April 2015. It was aimed at helping the par-ticipants to cope up with the stressors, which arise as a result of living an isolated life in deploy-ment areas. The work-shop assisted the partici-pants to utilize their stress positively to enhance their perfor-mance.

Similarly, Dr Zainab F. Zadeh also conducted a workshop on 'Play Therapy for Trauma Survivors' on April 28th, 2015 at Centre for Clinical Psychology, University of the Punjab, Lahore. The play therapy is a psychotherapeutic technique used with children as well as adults to over-come trauma and stress and to explore the hidden feelings and emo-tions.

/AIDS was conducted from 27 to 29 April 2015 at Bahria University Lahore Campus. For this purpose, Ms Batool Fatima developed the Training Manual while the training execution was led by Dr Zainab Zadeh and Dr Uzma Masroor and Ms Batool Fatima. Sports and games are indeed the ways of enhancing mental and physical growth and eliminate exhaustion. It is said that Education is incomplete without sports. Keeping in view its strong implications, Bahria University Islamabad organized a Sports Gala'2015 for its affiliated medical colleges and constituent units on 27 & 28 April 2015 at Islamabad Campus.

Honorable Rector BU, Vice Admiral (Retd) Tanveer Faiz HI (M) inaugurated the event. Students actively par-ticipated in the games, which included Basketball, Table Tennis, Volleyball and Badminton.

Among all affiliated units, BUM&DC Girls teams showed remarkable performance and won Basketball and

Table Tennis competitions. Boys Badminton team from BUM&DC won runners up trophy, while Girls Badminton team obtained third position.

BU hosted All Pakistan HEC Table Tennis Championship 2014-15 held at Islamabad Campus, 13-18 April 2015. Twenty six players of different Universities came from all over the country to participate in this mega sports event. In the Badminton Tournament, Girls team from BUKC obtained first position.

Final Table Tennis competition took place between Bahria and Iqra University. In consequence of which, Girls Table Tennis Team BUKC obtained second position. Similarly, BUKC Boys football team, Basket Ball Girls team, Volley Ball Boys Team and Throw Ball Girls Team also obtained second positions in their respective matches.

Eleven universities from Rawalpindi and Islamabad participated in this event. Final match of the championship was played between Bahria and NUST University at Islamabad campus.
