The Colchester 14 to 19 Area Planning Group which represents all of the secondary schools and col-leges in Colchester is holding a district Careers Convention on Tuesday 16 th October 2012, at the Wes-ton Homes Football Stadium, Colchester. You may arrive at any time during this time and speak to any of the exhibitors who will be from: Further Education, Higher Education, training providers, local employers and professional organisa-tions. The event is going to be an opportunity for over 2000 Colchester students and parents to find out about careers, training and local opportunities; employers, training providers and national organisations to publicise what they do and talk about the opportunities available within their sector. Please note that the event is not intended to be a recruitment fair but an opportunity for you to find out about different careers and their training routes. It will also be an ideal opportunity to speak to people who are actually involved in the work, giving you a real insight into whether it will be the career for you. If you would like to attend either with your parents or on your own please complete the reply slip below and return Mrs King in the Main Office as soon as possible. ————————————————————————————————————————————— Reply slip: COLCHESTER CAREERS CONVENTION Tuesday 16th October 2012, 5.00pm to 7.30pm at Weston Homes Community Stadium, Colchester Confirmation Slip, please return to Mrs King in the Main Office by Friday 12 October. Peer Mentoring Last July, over 20 of our students who are now in Year 11, were trained to become peer mentors. Younger students in the school are put forward for mentoring by their Head of House if they need support in certain areas, such as finding it hard to settle into a bigger school or looking for help to stay out of trouble. Our peer mentors meet regularly with their students to enable them to share their concerns with someone on their wavelength! If students want to access this scheme, all they have to do is either speak to one for our peer mentors with the bright yellow cards or email [email protected] and someone from our team will meet with them. Jon Bland Deputy Headteacher, TLA

Indoor Cricket

Indoor Cricket Club is held every Friday after school and is open to all pupils. This will start at 3:30 until 4:30. and will not cost the student anything. Students will be taught by a professional coach.
