Part of this initiative is to increase stu- dent’s exposure to more rigorous reading, particularly non- fiction. The non-fiction inventory in our Media Center is be- coming outdated. Therefore, we created this initiative as a way of raising needed funds to purchase new books. Due to the gen- erous donations of some of our parents , neighbors and com- munity businesses, we have raised $5,800.00! Please consider donating to this very important cause. With a $15.00 dona- tion, a bookplate with your name will be placed inside a newly purchased non-fiction book. If you would like to donate, please complete the form below. Clearly print the name you would like to have printed on the bookplate. Thank you, in ad- vance, for helping to reach our goal of $10,000. ping Party, to be held in January at Project Swing. Testing will not be available during the Winter Break, but will be available when we return on

Congratulations to both Ms. Howatt’s and Ms. Ballinger’s

classes for receiving “Honorable Recognition” for their en-

tries in the Dressing of the Palms. We hope that you take

beautiful displays.

News from the Art Room

Sign-ups for the third

session of Art Club (open to K-2) will continue when we return from Winter Break. The

third session will begin on January 13th.

KES Kids Can Run! Join Mrs. Tucker each

Wednesday at 4:15 p.m. for a

short training run around the

city. She is training for the

Matanzas 5K!! Join her when

she crosses the finish line!

Train each Wednesday so you

will be ready! We will resume

our training in January.

Did Santa bring too many toys? The V.P.K. classroom is now in full swing with 20 fabu-lous students. We would love to have any gently used

puzzles, games and educational toys that you no longer need. If you find yourself dealing with an overflowing

toy chest after Santa’s visit, please keep us in mind.

News from the Spanish Dept.

Spanish class is working with 5th and

3rd graders on letter writing. They will

T.O.T kids are working hard on their ball handling skills. Please encourage them to show you their talent over the winter break. As they
