5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. - Soule’ Steam WorksOnce again the Jim McRae family has invited our Central family towalk through and learn about the history of Soule’ Steam Works aswell as enjoy good food, fellowship, and friends! Children should weara swimsuit and bring a towel so you can enjoy the Water Slide. Bringyour lawn chairs, towels, bug spray etc. Come ready to have fun butdon’t forget to purchase your tickets early!!

Tickets may be purchased in the church office. Adults: $12.00 Children under 12: $6.00

LUNCH BUNCH VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!

We are looking for volunteers who would be dedicated to cooking lunch for our Senior Adult Ministry on Fridays.If you are looking for a way to get involved, this ministry would be perfect for you. Every Friday our Senior Adultsget together on the third floor for a program called LUNCH BUNCH. We share a meal together, lift up prayerconcerns, and have a devotional. We would love for you to volunteer and be placed on a rotational mealschedule to cook. College students from Central UMC are eligible to apply for the following scholarships.All scholarships are paid directly to the school of choice for the applicant. L.O. Todd Memorial Scholarship: Church or school related vocation. Walter Henderson Memorial Scholarship: Ministerial vocation. Birdie Brooks Memorial Scholarship: Church related vocation. Crooks Memorial Scholarship: No vocational restriction. Virginia Phillips Scholarship: No vocational restriction. H. Lowry Rush, Jr. Scholarship: Medical related vocation. Bob Rivers Memorial Scholarship: No vocational restriction.Scholarships are awarded by the Scholarship Committee of Central UMC and are basedon character, commitment and need of the applicant. Applications are available in thechurch office. The deadline to receive applications is June 27, 2014.

OUTSIDE SECURITYAt their May meeting, the Administrative Councilapproved a recommendation from the SPRC to hireAmerican Protection Services to provide outside securityduring our Sunday Worship services.

Beginning this Sunday, June 1st, there will be two securityguards who will patrol the perimeter of the building from8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

It is summer....time to sleep in...rest... enjoy the warm, sunny days, but PLEASE consider giving just 15hours of your summer to the children and friends of Central.

There will be a training session Wednesday, June 11th in the 11th Street Gym. Any supplies you may needhave already been purchased and ready for set up for the training session.

With VBS only a couple of weeks away, we have empty slots that still need filling. There are still openings forguides (you walk around with a group), Science Lab, Bible Story Teller, and Recreation Leader.

We try and make it as easy as possible for our leaders. PLEASE prayerfully consider giving 15 hours...it couldmake an eternal difference in the life of a child!
