SERVICE OVER SELFContact Philip Walkley at (901) 681-9044 or [email protected]

✺ Adopt-a-homeowner – We are constantly looking for year-round help to minister to homeowners after we have finished their houses. The local church can be involved through a family or Sunday school class “adopting” a homeowner or a family in the neighborhood. A group from your church could also obtain information about a family from us in order to help them finish smaller projects around their house.

✺ Adopt-a-week – During our summer camps we need volunteers to help us accomplish various tasks during the week/weekend. Generally, a church will

“adopt” a week or weekend of camp. That church will recruit volunteers and send them to SOS at various times throughout the week/weekend. Contact Drew Haltom at (901) 681-9044 or [email protected].

✺ Summer Camp – Each summer we host 8 weeks of summer mission camps for Jr. and Sr. High school students. Your youth group can bring a team of students and adult leaders to participate in a week of repairing homes in the name of Christ in Binghampton. Contact Candace Todd at (901) 681-9044 or [email protected] or register online at www.sosmemphis.org.

Spring Break Camp – Each spring we host 4 weeks of mission camps for college students. Your church could put together a team of college students to participate in a week-long mission trip doing home repairs in Binghampton. Contact Candace Todd at (901) 681-9044 or [email protected] or register online at www.sosmemphis.org.

Fall Servants Weekend – Each fall we host 4 weekend (Friday-Sunday) mission trips for small groups, Sunday school classes, families, etc. Various groups from your church can sign up to participate in a short mini-camp, serving our neighborhood.

Construction Volunteers – We are always looking for individuals who are skilled in the area of construction to help us with home repair at various times throughout the year and when camps are in session. Contact John Major at (901) 681-9044 at [email protected].

✺ Host Families – Each year during the months of June and July we have families volunteer to be a host family to one of our college summer staff. If you would be willing to host one of our summer staff, contact Drew Haltom at (901) 681-9044 or [email protected].

Spring Clean – Volunteer on Saturday, April 16, 2011 from 8:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m. to do a massive cleaning of our building and property to prepare for our summer camps. Volunteers from local churches can sign up to help us get ready to host over 1,400 campers for the summer. Contact Philip Walkley at (901) 681-9044 or [email protected]
