Starting operation:

Installtheunitonalevelsurface.

Thefluidtankoftheunitneedstobefilledwithsmokefluidbeforeswitchingon.Alwaysdisconnecteditfromthemainssupplyasfluidcouldbespilled.

Onlyusequalitysmokefluidsrecommendedbyyourdealer.See page 7forourrecommendedhighqualitysmokefluids.Youmustnotusesubstanceswhichareclassifiedas‘DANGEROUS WORKING MATERIALS’or‘FLAMMABLE FLUIDS’.

Iffluidshouldgetinsidethemainhousing,disconnecttheunitfromthemainsimmediatelyandconsultatechnician.

Installation:

Installtheunitinawell-ventilatedarea.Useinaninsufficientlyventilatedroomcanleadtothecondensationofthesmokefluid.Theresultingslipperysurfacecancauseaccidents.Keepaminimumdistanceof50cmaroundtheunit.

Furthermoredonotorientatetheoutputnozzledirectlyinthedirectionoftheaudience’seyes.Inordertocreatethebesteffect,thereshouldbeadistancebetweentheunitandtheaudienceofatleast1.5m.

Onlyinstallthesmokemachineonfireresistant,scratchresistantandwaterresistantsurfaces.

Pleasemakesurethattheinstallationangledoesnotexceed15˚fromhorizontal.

Thisunitisconstructedforafreestandingorhanginginstallation.Iftheunitistobeinstalledoverhead,pleasefollowthesafetyinstructionsbelow:

Rigging installation:

Theinstallationhastobebuiltandconstructedinawaythatitcanhold10timestheweightoftheunit(s)tobeinstalledfor1hourwithoutanydeformation.

Theunitmustalwaysbesecuredwithasecondarysafetyattachment,e.g.anappropriatecatchnetorsafetywire.Thesecondarysafetyattachmentmustbeconstructedinawaythatnopartoftheinstalledunitcanfalldownifthemainattachmentfails.

Whenrigging,deriggingorservicing,donotallowpersonneltobedirectlyunderneaththeunit.

Theoperatormustalwaysmakesurethatthesafety-relatingandmachine-technicalinstallationsareapprovedbyanexpertbeforeoperationforthefirsttimeandafteranyfurtherchangesaremade.

Theoperatorhastomakesurethatthesafety-relatingandmachine-technicalinstallationsareapprovedbyaqualifiedpersononceayear.

Procedure:

Whenhanging,theunitmustnotbeinstalledinareasabovewherepersonsmaywalkbyorbeseated.

IMPORTANT! OVERHEAD RIGGING REQUIRES EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE,including(butnotlimitedto)calculatingworkingloadlimits,installationmaterialsbeingused,andperiodicsafetyinspectionofallinstallationmaterialsandtheunit.Ifyouarenotqualified,donotattempttheinstallationyourself,butinsteaduseaprofessionalstructuralrigger.Improperinstallationcanresultinbodilyinjuryandordamagetoproperty.

Theunithastobeinstalledoutofthereachofpeople.

CAUTION:Unitsinoverheadinstallationsmaycausesevereinjurieswhenfalling!Ifyouhavedoubtsconcerningthesafetyofapossibleinstallation,donotinstalltheunit.

Mounttheunitwiththebrackettoyourhangingsystemusinganappropriateclamporbolt.

Foroverheaduse,alwaysinstallasafetywirewhichcanholdatleast12timestheweightoftheunit.Youmustonlyusesafetywireswithlinkscrewcaps.

Themaximumdropdistanceofanysafetybond(wire)mustneverexceed20cm.Asafetywirewhichhasalreadyheldthestrainofafallenitemorwhichisdefectivemustnotbeusedagain.

Adjustthedesiredinstallationangleviathemountingbracketandtightenthescrews.

Cleaning and maintenance:

Werecommendafrequentcleaningoftheunit.Pleaseuseasoftlint-freeandmoistenedcloth.Neverusealcoholorsolvents!Cleantheoutputnozzlefrequentlyfromsmokefluidresidues.Thefluidswerecommend(See page 7)arenon-hazardoustotheenvironmentandcanbedisposedofviathesewagesystem.

Therearenoserviceablepartsinsidethisunitexceptforthefuse.Maintenanceandserviceoperationsareonlytobecarriedoutbyauthorizeddealers.

Replacing the fuse:

Onlyreplacethefusewithafuseofsametypeandrating.

Before replacing the fuse, disconnect from the mains, see the following for procedure:

Step 1: Open the fuse holder on the rear panel with a suitable screwdriver. Step 2: Remove the old fuse from the fuse holder. Step 3: Install the new fuse in the fuse holder. (Replacement fuses should be of the same value as originally supplied) Step 4: Replace the fuse holder in the housing.

Shouldyouneedanyspareparts,onlyusegenuineparts.Ifdefective,pleasedisposeoftheunusableunitinaccordancewiththecurrentlegalregulations.

Shouldyouhaveanyfurtherquestions,pleasecontactyourdealer.

Operation:Connectthefogmachinetoasuitablemainsoutletusingthe13A-IECpowercable.

Aftertheunithasbeenpoweredupthefogmachinewilltakeashortwhiletoheatuptooperatingtemperature.OnceheatedandreadyforusetheRed LEDontheremotewillilluminatetoindicatetheunitisReady to Fog.

Tobeginfoggingpressthebuttononthehandheldremotecontrol.TheGreen LEDwillilluminateontheremotecontroltoindicatethefogmachineisactiveandthepumpisrunning.Longperiodsofactivationmaytriggerthefogmachinetoenterthereheatcycleduringwhichthefogmachinewillnotproduceanyoutput.

Careshouldbetakentoensurethefluidlevelismaintainedandtheunitisnotallowedtorundryoffluid.Isolatefromthemainssupplybeforerefillingthefluidtank.

Fluid:Ourfluidisidealforusewithmostbrandsofwaterbasedfoggersandsmokemachines.

Leavesnoresidue,isnontoxicandismanufacturedfromfoodgradecomponentsinourUKlaboratory.

ThisindustrystandardfluidistheautomaticchoiceofDJsandbandsalike.Adensewhiteairbornefogisproducedwithamediumlengthdispersaltime.Itsmediumindexofrefractionmakesthisformulaidealforalleffects.
