Installation

Dear Customer,Thank you very much for purchasing VStarcam product!Please follow the steps below to configure the camera:Note: Users who have downloaded Eye4 APP to mobile phones and registered Eye4 accounts can skip steps 1 and 2.

Software Download

There are two ways to choose from: ① Scan the QR code below to download.

② For iPhone, please go to APP Store；For android phone, please open the Google

Play or other APP market,to search for "Eye4" APP and download.

Register

For Android/iOS APP, click on "Register", create a user name and password to① finish register.


Also support third part② ies account login( no need to register).

LAN Connection

(A recommended method with simple steps and high success rate) Plug the camera to the power socket, and use a network cable to connect camera to①

the router’s LAN port, make sure the router’s yellow indicator is flashing. Besides, the phone and camera should be under the same router.② Login the APP, click on the "+" in the top right corner, scan the QR code on the label sticker of the camera’s body.

③The APP will start searching the camera. After about 30s, the APP will find the camera and the binding page will pop up, click “Add it” to add the camera.


Search in LAN

(This method is as a plan B for the method of LAN connection ) Plug the cam to the power socket and plug it to the router’s LAN port(with a①

network cable). Make sure the lights on both the camera’s tail line and the router’s LAN port are on.②Login the APP, click on the "+" in the top right corner, choose “Others→IP Camera”.③Tap "Search in LAN", you can find all the available cameras in the same router with the smart phone. After it detects the camera, the binding page will pop up, click “Add it” to add the camera.④After the cam is being added successfully, it can be added by other users(with different account) with the same way .

Manually add a camera

( The most direct way to add cameras to mobile devices)

Plug the cam to the power socket and plug it to the router’s LAN port(with a① network cable). Make sure the lights on both the camera’s tail line and the router’s LAN port are on.

L② ogin the APP, click on the "+" in the top right corner, choose “Others→IP

（Note： Cameras that has been added successfully in this account will not be searched again）.

camera's bottom sticker, the UID will be auto filled in; You can also manually input camera's UID(15 digits, can be found on the label stick to the camera's body), then put in the camera’s password to bind the camera. You can also take this method to add the camera to another phone when needed.

Wi-Fi Connection

After the camera is being successfully bound to the APP, if you want to make the camera work in Wi-Fi mode, please follow the steps below:

① In the home page of the APP, click the in the top right corner of the camera

→choose “Settings→WiFi”.


②Select the WiFi that the smartphone/tablet connecting to, then input WiFi password, click on "done". Wait until the APP prompt‘please remove the network cable, camera will restart…’, remove the network cable(Keep the camera powered on).

Unplug the network cable,camera will reboot automatically...

Reminders If setup failed,

please refer to network cable connection method or change a router to setup again.

Message Center

Display motion detection timeline. When the detector is triggered by motion, the camera will record each motion video about 30 seconds. You can browse to see when the camera detects movement and view corresponding motion detection video by clicking on it.

Control camera, view real-time videos, or adjust camera settings.

Notes: 1. Data records here can be set in Settings-SD recording and Alarm. 2. SD recording

function must be used with SD card inserted. Camera support SD card up to 128G.


WiFi: setup the wireless network used by the camera. Password: change camera password. Firmware: check out the latest firmware version. Timely updating firmware to

the latest version can effectively guarantee the security of the IP camera. Top equipment: Stick the device to the top of the home page. Device volume: Voice prompt volume adjustment. Reboot: restart camera. Delete: delete the current camera.

Video Adjust and watch real-time monitoring video. Night mode: when “automatic”is switched on, the infrared night vision will be

automatically activated. Camera will record clear black and white videos when light goes dim.

Horizontal: turn the video picture left to right. Vert mirror: turn the video picture upside down. Light mode: adjust the light according to specific environment in indoor mode or

outdoor mode. If cross striation appears or the light is too dim, you can try to toggle the brightness bar and contrast bar to make adjustments.

Set time: Turn on it to display time on the real-time video.

SD RecordingSetup recording and storage information of the camera. SD Status: check available space of your SD card. When SD card is about to be

full, please sort the data in time so as to avoid overwriting or previous records loss.

Recording mode: available options-No Recording, Motion Recording, Recording and Schedule Recording.

Motion Recording: record video when motion is detected. You can set ① the detection sensitivity and the detection period.

Schedule Recording: record video during the time zone you set. You can set② recording period 24 hours/7 days.

Record Sound: only for cameras with audio function.

Format: format the SD card in the camera. Files in SD card will be cleared.

Alarm

TIP: Make sure to click the recording or detection period you need, and click Apply. You can add multiple scheduled recordings or motion recordings.


Setup motion detection and alarm message. Notification Type: available options-Receive client(APP) notification and Mail

Notification. Motion Detection Alarm: when this function is activated, the camera will detect

motion and send alarms. Motion Detection Sensitivity: sensitivity can be adjusted to low, middle and

high level. If you find camera detection is too sensitive, please lower its sensitivity. If it fails to send alarm message due to low sensitivity, please enhance its sensitivity.

Alarming time: camera will detect movement during the alarming time zone you set and send alarm message. If no schedule is added, camera will detect movements 24 hours.

Video Recording Frame

Click the video screen to view video and control camera.Full Screen Interface


: click the full screen button to view monitoring video on full screen and enjoy more functions.

: you can steer the camera by swiping right or left and scrolling up or down on device screen.: display resolution-high, normal or smooth mode decides different image

quality. Choose a proper mode to have a fluent image and smooth operation.: click to record video.

: click to take a picture.: click to talk to camera(only for cameras that support audio).

: click to hear from camera(only for cameras that support audio). : set and add preset sight as preset position. Up to 5 preset positions can be set. After setting, camera can cruise all those preset positions.

Vertical Cruise: camera will perform vertical cruise automatically.Horizontal Cruise: camera will perform horizontal cruise automatically.Preset Positions Cruise: camera will cruise preset positions automatically.

Shortcut Operation Interface

: click to take a photo.: click to record video.: press and hold the orange microphone icon to speak, release your finger to have

voice message sent(only for cameras that support audio).


: three cruise modes: Vertical Cruise, Horizontal Cruise, Preset Positions Cruise. It has same function as it is on full screen.

My Personal Center

Adjust software settings and account information(Tap the tab “Me” on the bottom right of the APP’s homepage) .

: Modify account information. Set portrait and nickname, change password and logout.

Recovery Email: enter the email address you want to bind with the camera and click Send. Open your email box to verify. Q & A

Q：Why there are only two IR lights on at night?

A：It depends on the zoom. When it’s 1X zoom , 2 IR leds will be on; When it’s 2X

zoom, 4 IR leds will be on; When it’s 4X zoom, 6 IE LEDs will be on.

Q：How to reset the camera to factory default setting?

A：Hold the reset button on the tail line for about 10 seconds to reset camera.

Camera’s default password: 888888 (To improve the security, it is highly recommended that you modify the password of the camera).

Q: Any tips for WiFi connection?

A : camera support only 2.4G frequency signal，and 802.11b/g/n WiFi network.

1.The WiFi password should be less than 16 digits, and can not contain special

characters, such as @ ￥！etc. , suggest you to make a password that contains only

letters and number.


2.Please upgrade the APP to the latest version.

Q : No vision at night time ？A: Check if the IR function is enabled or not;①

Check if the IR LED is on or not;② Reset the camera back to factory setting;③ Upgrade the camera to the latest firmware.④

Q：What to do if camera’s picture is blurred?

A : Login the camera's web interface, adjust the picture quality to HD mode;① Adjust the focus of the camera.②

Clean the camera lens with a cotton swab.
