Tonight is the 18th day of the past 30 that Egan has been open. (God bless the volunteers that make it run. They are going above and beyond any sort of reasonable commitment). The presence of the light does not mean that evil won’t exist, or that there isn’t a whole lot to do, or that everything is going to be ok, but the Light of Christ gives us the strength to persevere. And that, perseverance, is the order of the day. Here are two glimmers of light, one familiar, one less so, to brighten your day. Collect of the Day for the 2 nd Sunday after the Epiphany Almighty God, whose Son our Savior Jesus Christ is the light of the world: Grant that your people, illumined by your Word and Sacraments, may shine with the radiance of Christ's glory, that he may be known, worshipped, and obeyed to the ends of the earth; through Jesus Christ
