4. Check the victim and Give First Aid

5. Seek Advanced Life Support (ALS)

Scene check

Always check the scene before rushing in to help a

victim, look for any hazards such as:

» Smoke, flames

» Spilled chemicals, vapors

» Downed electrical wires

» Risk of explosion, building collapse

» Roadside dangers, high-speed traffic

» Potential personal violence

When to call

Always call your local emergency number when:

» The victim may have a life-threatening condition;

» The victim is unresponsive;

» The victim’s condition may become life

threatening;

» Moving the victim could make his or her

condition worse.

When giving an emergency call, do provide the

following information:

» Your name and phone number you

are using

» The location and number of victims

» What happened to the victims and

the circumstances

» Victim’s approximate age, condition

and sex

» What is being done for the victims
