As the leaders of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, we are honored to present you with the 10th Annual National Leadership Circle Loyalty Book. We would like to thank you for your support of K-State Athletics and the Ahearn Fund.
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is a leadership group that serves as a connection between teams, administration and the K-State community. The committee is comprised of student-athlete representatives from each sport, who serve to represent the interests, opinions and concerns of their teammates. SAAC provides opportunities to enhance the overall K-State student-athlete experience of our fellow 450 student-athletes in three key ways: encouraging camaraderie, coordinating service projects that allow our athletes to give back to the Manhattan community and serving as a liaison between each athletic team and the K-State athletic administration.
You and the entire Wildcat community play a huge role in our success and the successes of our fellow student-athletes. The reason we reach our maximum potential academically,
athletically, mentally and socially is a direct product of your annual giving as a member of the National Leadership Circle. Your contributions have not only allowed us to compete in the top facilities, they have provided us with academic resources, access to a nutritionist and a clinical psychologist, as well as opportunities for global experiences through the Cats Across Continents initiative. Ultimately, your support allows us to create memories on and off the playing field.
This special Loyalty Book recognizes each and every NLC member for their outstanding generosity and support of K-State Athletics. The pages of this book will highlight the many accomplishments of our student-athletes and their unforgettable wins in the bright lights of competition. All of our successes stem from your contributions and commitment to the cause.
Thank you for your unwavering support of K-State Athletics and for giving us an opportunity to earn an outstanding education from Kansas State University. You have made a tremendous impact on our lives and we truly appreciate you. Go ‘Cats!

I would like to start by saying that Cathy and I are truly honored and blessed to be a part of the K-State family. The Wildcat Nation is one of the most dedicated and supportive fan bases in the country, and nowhere is that passion more evident than in our National Leadership Circle membership. By participating, you directly impact our programs by helping provide scholarships, sports medicine, academic support and other services that benefit Wildcat student-athletes while also funding for strategic enhancements such as facility improvements and coaches’ salaries. Passion is a word commonly used to describe the K-State family, and it is incredible how much our fans care for and support Wildcat Athletics. We will never take your support for granted. The NLC has been tremendous for our annual operating budget to support student-athletes and coaches but this group has also been on the frontier of supporting the $255 million-plus in capital facility improvements since 2010. As we kick off our Building Champions
campaign, the projects include the new South End Zone/Bramlage concourse, Volleyball Arena, Olympic Training Facility and the Football Indoor Practice Facility. We appreciate your initiative in supporting our vision. You believe and trust in the direction of our teams and student-athletes, and your annual, capital and endowment contributions allow our coaching staffs to recruit and mold these students into athletes and more importantly fine young men and women. I am excited for this upcoming year for our teams, both in the classroom and on the playing field, and I will do everything I can to support our student-athletes, coaches and staff. Providing our coaches and student-athletes with the necessary resources to compete and win will remain a top priority for us as a department, and we look forward to an exciting 2019-20 season. I thank each and every one of you for your support and commitment to K-State Athletics and the National Leadership Circle.
Go ‘Cats!

JOHN K. & KIM VANIER, IISALINA, KS
The love affair between K-State Athletics and John Vanier’s family is long and well-known. But for the 1981 graduate, who counts
football weekends among his cherished memories as a student, his giving comes not from family obligation or tradition, but because of the way he feels about the people. The former Kite’s bartender says he gives because of “the respect I have for student-athletes,
coaching staffs and people involved in K-State Athletics.”

in December of 2015. Prior to his death, Bob continued to be deeply involved in K-State with efforts in leadership programs and athletics. Marty continues to be involved in efforts in agriculture, veterinary medicine and biosecurity. Their
favorite K-State Athletics memories were attending Coach Snyder’s induction into the College Football Hall of Fame and going to the Copper Bowl in Tucson and
soundly beating the Wyoming Cowboys....the bowl drought was over!

My initial interest in K-State was piqued by one of my best friends, Max Moss,
who played basketball there. It was his dedication to the school that drew me
in. My financial involvement started when Coach Snyder walked into my
office many years ago trying to convince me to purchase a box at the stadium. I asked why would I want to donate to a program that at the time didn’t have a
good football team. He assured me that they would and he hasn’t let us down
yet. Both of our sons attended college and graduated from K-State. We, as a family, have a loge box at the stadium
and enjoy attending games regularly. We have 4 grandchildren that have already shown interest in being future Wildcats.

community of Manhattan and surrounding area, overall. We are so excited to support
a program with such a longstanding tradition and an extremely bright future!”

MANHATTAN, KS
As a second generation Kansas State University graduate Keith (‘85) and his
wife Sheri returned to Manhattan to take over ownership of Blueville Nursery, Inc. in August of 1998. Keith’s parents Darrell (‘58,’59) and Dorothy (Fox) (‘58) were
first generation graduates of Kansas State University. An interesting note is that they started at Kansas State College and then the name was changed to Kansas State University during their years in school. Keith and Sheri’s daughter Sidney is a
2015 graduate of the university as a third generation K-Stater. As business owners in Manhattan they see first-hand how K-State
Athletics fuels and has a huge economic impact on the community. The university has also provided great students that are
now owners in Blueville Nursery.
