Across five of Ghana’s ten regions, communities
will be empowered with Water, Sanitation &
Hygiene (WASH) activities. In total, 30 districts
will benefit from the ongoing activities of WASH
for Health.
› Encourage healthy defecation, proper hand washing, and good water storage practices.
› Promote essential nutrition and WASH behaviors.
Since February 2015 , G loba l Communities has been implementing the f ive-year WASH for Health project.
T h e G l o b a l C o m m u n i t i e s ’ pro jec t t e am leverages support of various WASH
and governmental institutions in Ghana. In all aspects of our work, we seek achievement of the Project Goal through collaboration with partners who share Global Communities’ mission to create long-lasting, positive and community-led change in Ghanaian communities.
At the institutional level, we are actively seeking partnerships with private enterprises and the public sector to achieve WASH for Health's Six Project Objectives.
We are committed to imparting the right technical skills, knowledge and attitudes, so that citizens of Ghana can adopt improved WASH behaviors. By 2020, the WASH for Health project will increase access to improved water supply, sanitation, and hygiene behaviors in over 700 rural communities across the country.
