lemon to help the flavour in the drink. But in 1907 the Menzies Company stated bottling it and selling it and it became known as the Lemon and Paeroa drink.

The Kiwi fruit icon was called the Chinese gooseberry as it originally came from China.

Te Puke is in the North island not very far away from Paeroa.

In 1952 the first exports were made, and in 1959 the name kiwifruit was introduced.

Te Puke has a kiwi fruit queen who has been crowned queen of the kiwi fruit.

One of the bad things about the kiwi fruit is that some people get confused with the kiwi bird and the kiwi fruit.
