What part of our extract are we writing today? What did we write about yesterday?

What emotion would we want our readers to feel?

Boudicca has just defeated and destroyed Londinium, Romans have retreated and Boudicca

wants to now march on to St Albans.

In today's writing, we want to focus on creating suspense.

Will she finally be stopped?

Will Boudicca

defeat the

Roman army?

TTYP: What is suspense? How can you create suspense in writing?

Boudicca has just defeated and destroyed Londinium, the Romans have retreated and Boudicca now wants to march onto St.Albans. Londinium has been left in a state of utter devastation. Boudicca spared no one; her wrath was felt by all. She marches on ... fearlessly. Could she conquer the Romans?

Let's have a go at writing the start of the next part in Boudicca's journey together. We will use emotive language and also build in suspense.
