ding machines. With HELITRONIC TOOL STUDIO you have at your disposal one of
the most modern and fl exible software systems in the fi eld of tool grinding. Over
30 years‘ experience in software continuously infl uence further development. All the
fi ndings arising from grinding trials are directly utilised for software development.

the most modern and fl exible software systems in the fi eld of tool grinding. Over

“What you see is what you grind”
And in the end that‘s what it‘s all about. HELITRONIC TOOL STUDIO has in-tegrated 3D simulation. The fi nished tool appears on the screen within a few seconds. No time-consuming switching between parameter input and simula-tion. The 3D simulation is modifi ed for every change. The user can zoom in on tool features at will, rotate the tool dislay in three dimensions. Users can also defi ne different colours for different tool features or grinding operations sim-plifying visual checking of the tool – all for the ultimate in user-friendliness. HELITRONIC TOOL STUDIO ensures that the simulation is extremely close to how the fi nal ground tool. After all, the simulation uses the actual grinding program that controls the machine, not an approximation – which only ben-efi ts the quality of the tools produced.

Greater clarity
The user can find all the information at a glance – whether grinding param-eters, grinding operations or tool and machine simulations. Users can simply select the view that suits them. No information overload resulting from un-necessary data – but the essential details always in sight.
Maximum flexibility
Thanks to the modular structure of HELITRONIC TOOL STUDIO, it is possible to produce tools of virtually any complexity. This is made possible by opera-tions that can be freely combined with one another, such as flutes, endface geometries with clearance angles and point thinning, or even peripheral op-erations. There is no limit to the number of operations performed for each tool. Users are able to construct a tool according to their own ideas. And thanks to its modular structure, HELITRONIC TOOL STUDIO is also ideally prepared for future revisions.
Grinding with no collisions
In order to prevent collisions from occurring during subsequent grinding operations, HELITRONIC TOOL STUDIO has an integrated collision monitoring function. This illustrates not only the machine space including the chuck and the grinding wheels, but also any additional attachments such as tailstocks or steadyrests. Collision checking is carried out automatically before each grind-ing procedure. If necessary the machine stops automatically to prevent a crash.
Integrated measuring function
Tools can of course be measured even before grinding. The integrated measur-ing function operates with a precision of < 3 µm. And the measurement does not depend on the current magnifi cation of the graphic because, as in the case of a CAD system, the cutting edges are automatically identifi ed.
Free scaling
If a fi nished tool is to be modifi ed in its entirety, for example to be given a larger diameter, all you need to do is to enter the required value. Other pa-rameters such as clearance angle widths, fl ute depths etc. are automatically adjusted by HELITRONIC TOOL STUDIO – free scaling for effi cient working.
Click & Edit
Changes can be made with a simple click on the tool geometry to be modifi ed; e.g. simply click on the fl ute and the associated parameters are displayed immediately. These can be quickly and easily changed. Tedious searching through various menu pages is no longer necessary.

There are “wizards” for the commonly used tool families. The wizards guide the user in a few stages and with a few inputs to the finished tool. The user only enters the absolutely essential key data, such as diameter, tool length and tool type.
