Walter J. FabisinskiPassed Away May 18, 2008

Fab passed away on May 18, 2008 on Staten Island.

He served our country as a US Marine in Vietnam and later as a member of the Marine Corps

Reserve and as a chaplain in the Marine Corps League. Walter was one of the first federal air

marshals before becoming a NYC transit policeman. Many of us remember Fab as a great

teammate at the beginning of the MFHS Alumni Softball League.

Fearless Ed is a regular attendee at all our reunion events. He fully participated in the Sept.

2012 reunion events including Friday’s golf and mixer and the Saturday Main Event where he

was the bassist for the Band of Rockers that performed there. Ed relocated in 2015 from

Latham NY to Santa Barbara, CA near to where his son lives. He again was all in at our 50th ,

playing in the golf outing, attending the Friday mixer, and keeping the Band of Rockers on beat

with his bass playing at the Main Event.

Tom and wife Christine participated in the 2007 and 2012 reunions. Tom is coordinator of our

live music at our Main Events and is an active committee member. Tom continues to serve as

musical director, lead guitarist, and a vocalist for the Band of Rockers and was again on point

at our 50th Main Event.

He is a founding member of the band The Heroic Enthusiasts who are under contract, actively

Tim participated in the 2007 reunion and attended the 2011 VVA plaque ceremony at MFHS

honoring Don Tinney and was truly a class leader. Tim passed away rather suddenly and

friends and family from MFHS, Wagner College, FDNY, various social establishments where

Tim worked, youth sports teams, and neighbors on Staten Island got together at a golf outing

at Silver Lake and a dinner at LiGreci’s Staaten to remember and honor Tim and help his

family recover from the loss.

Joe’s passing was shortly after he participated in our 25th anniversary reunion in Jamesburg

NJ. Joe enjoyed a successful banking career at Paine Webber. Joe was survived by his wife,

Barbara, and his siblings. Barbara hosted our 35th reunion in Howell, NJ and stays in touch.

Randy participated in the 2007 reunion but was traveling with Gene Garvin during the Sept.

2012 reunion and could not attend. He participated in the planning meeting for our 50th at

Lee’s Tavern in June 2016. At our 50th reunion, Randy was on the winning team in the golf

outing then attended the Friday night mixer. Randy and wife Jane were at the Memorial Mass

and whooped it up at our Main Event.

Like many in the class, Randy and Jane do a lot of child care for their grandkids.

Vic was enthusiastic about renewing friendships at the Sept. 2012 reunion events and made a

number of calls on the committee’s behalf. He fully participated in the Friday and Saturday

events and it was great to see him again. Vic participated in the June 2016 planning meeting

at Lee’s Tavern for our 50th reunion and attended Friday and Saturday reunion events.

Vic stays active in retirement with his family and particularly enjoys time with his grandkids.

“Well, others have been very succinct in their status notes. I, on the other hand, have very

seldom been at a loss for words, so here goes: The US Coast Guard gave me a 1-way ticket to

Ketchikan, Alaska in 1969. Two great things for America happened on a certain day in July 1969.

The astronauts first landed on the moon, and Paul landed in Ketchikan, the unofficial Rainfall

Capital of the U.S.! I finished my 2-years of Active Duty then worked in a Pulp Mill for a year until

returning to California in 1972. I had grown up around pre-computers with my dad having been a

Data Processing Manager, so I was no stranger to them when I had my first opportunity to break

into the business in Los Angeles in 1972. I spent the next 39 years in contract programming and

management at various companies around the state, spending the last 10 years at El Dorado

In June of 1981 my wife and I adopted a beautiful newborn baby boy whom we named Brian.

She moved on when he was 4, so Brian and I shared life for another 17 years! We lived it to the

fullest, traveling back and forth around the U.S. whenever we could. We moved to the

Sacramento area in 1993, and settled in Placerville in 1996. Probably our craziest

accomplishment was a 6,256-mile motorcycle ride thru British Columbia, Alaska, Yukon

Territory, and Alberta (not to mention the States in between) in 1997. I had no sooner settled

down to a solo career when I met a wonderful lady while camping. Diana and I were married in

New Zealand on Dec 1, 2002! We are both NASCAR nuts, and since I had season tickets to

Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee it became clear where we were going to settle

when we retired. We were trying to sell our home in 2007 (emphasis on trying) when the 40th

Reunion came and went. We were stuck there, and couldn’t get out. After 3 ½ years of agony,

we finally found a buyer, “escaped” California in January 2011, and are now living the wonderful

life of retirement in “the greenest state in the land of the free”. We will be at the 2012 reunion

and hope to see you there. “

From John: “I have been married to my prom date Phyllis since not that long after graduation. Attended

S.I.C.C. for 1 year. I was honorably discharged as an E-7 from the N.Y. Army National Guard after serving

from 1967 to 1974. We lived in Rosebank for 15 years before moving to Howell, N.J. Retired in 1995 from the

N.Y.C.T.A. after 26 years. Went on to charter bus and school bus operations until permanently retiring in 2002.

I have 3 children, Lisa, Karen, and John Jr. and 4 Grandchildren, Lauren, Haley, Nicholas, and Drew. My

hobbies are toy trains and classic cars. My classic car is a 1958 Chevrolet Belair. It is the exact car like the

one I had when I was dating my wife in high school. Tom Ingrisani and I founded the Blue Moon Kruizers

Classic Car Club of Howell, N.J. 8 years ago of which I am also president. We raised over $30,000 the past 8

years for the Howell Food Pantry along with food donations. We are committed to continue and help provide

From John: “I am married to my high school girlfriend, Sandra, who was the "princess of the

prom" at our senior prom. I asked her to go steady [that expression shows our age] that night

and we have been together ever since. We have three children, 2 boys [one adopted] and one

girl., They have given us 5 grandchildren, ages 16 to 7 yrs old. I retired in Feb. 2009 after 40

yrs as a construction electrician in NYC with Local Union #3 I.B.E.W. I enjoy playing golf and

have an 11 handicap. I also enjoy fishing and boating and am a USCG licensed master

captain.”

Carmine passed away on February 28, 2011 on Staten Island.

Carmine participated in the 2007 reunion attending the Memorial Mass and the cocktail hour.

He held an accounting degree from Fordham University and had retired as an examination

director for the New York Stock Exchange. He was survived by his wife, Angie, two sons and

a daughter, and his best buddy, grandson Gino.

Rich lost his battle with fibrosis of the lungs while living in Surprize, AZ. He was survived by

two sons, grandson, and his older brother John T. Marino, Jr. (MFHS ’66). We regret that Rich

was not well enough to relive his days with the Mark V by rocking out at recent reunions. He

had a career in Texas with the US Postal Service. He was married three times. Richard loved

animals, motorcycles, guns, the latest technology “toys”, pontoon boats & fishing on the lake,

restoring cars, hanging out with friends, and his family! Rich was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan,

drank Canadian Whiskey and he hated to eat vegetables! He lived fully and he did it his way

and he will be greatly missed!

significant air miles traveling in from Oregon. They are doing well in Portland and Matt stays

busy doing remodeling of their houseboat and cabins. He has retired from both the phone

company and TSA and is doing more traveling of late. Matt and Kate had a great time at our

50th Main Event.

Steve passed away on February 7, 2012 on Staten Island after a lengthy battle with throat

cancer.

Steve participated in the 2011 VVA plaque ceremony at MFHS honoring Don Tinney. He

earned a radiologic technology degree from the US Public Health Service Hospital and was a

long time X-ray technologist at Richmond Memorial / Staten Island Hospital. He was survived

by his wife, Barbara, daughter Kelly, and two grandchildren.

grandkids in Lancaster County, PA. Bill retired as an engineer for the City of Philadelphia

John McQuillan passed away on September 14, 1966 prior to graduation from MFHS.

He passed away following open heart surgery at NYU Hospital intended to correct an

enlarged heart. While John didn’t live to see our graduation, we will always consider him part

of our class.
