The Śląskie Region is situated on the southern Polish, on the upper Vistula, Oder and the Warta River, is bordering the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Includes the eastern part of the historical lands of Upper Silesia, polish part of Cieszyn Silesia and part of
western Malopolska, in this also the Basin Dabrowski, Basin Krakowski, district of Żywiec, Czestochowa and a big part of the Jura Krakow-Czestochowa.
The seat of the Voivodeships Government is the city of Katowice.
