From Your Pastor’s Heart The free time away has truly been amazing! The cruise to Alaska was so beautiful. If you ever get a chance to go, I would highly recommend that you do that! The Good Lord sure did create a beautiful place for us to live. Alaska was so vast and so pristine, it was amazing! We got to go to the Yu-kon, Ketchikan, Skagway and Juneau. The glaciers were the most amazing creations I have ever seen. The Lord has allowed me to see the major migration of
the animals in Kenya eight times, Yellowstone National Park twice and now Alaska. There is a great big beautiful world out there and you need to see it. The Danielle Adkins Dormitory is completed and the girls are so happy there. We are also building the Swansea Baptist Church near Kisii. I hope to see them both in September and the other nine or ten that Uttermost Ministries is building! I hope to see you Sunday!

Celebration of Liberty at First Baptist of Columbia
If you are a patriotic American, you may have already attended the Celebration of Liberty at the First Baptist Church of Columbia. Every year one thinks it could not be better, but somehow they manage to come up with a new show of patriotic music, guests from all branches of the military, singers, bands, and even indoor fireworks! It is a spectacular event you will enjoy and remember. Join the adults and senior adults on Sun-day afternoon, June 26th, for the 4:00pm performance. The church bus will put you out at the side door and you will re-ceive a free ticket. Departure time from the church is 2:30pm. Please sign up in the hall so we will have enough tickets. You may want to find your red, white and blue to wear. We promise you will be waving a flag when you leave. The group will eat “fast food” on the way home
Metallic Club Cele-brates Oldest Church
Member The senior adults will hold their next meeting on Monday, June 20th at 11:00am. There will be devotions, business meeting, and a celebration for our oldest member. We miss Mrs. Jettie Craft since she passed away at 99 years, 11 months old, but we know she is in heaven. Now the honor passes to Mrs. Lavern “Bunkie” Betty. In case you don’t know here, she is Linda Cassidy’s mother. Mrs. Bunkie will be 95 on June 23rd. She and her husband, Hozzie Lee, moved to Swansea in 1946 and they joined Swansea First Baptist in 1949. They started Reed and Berry’s Gro-cery, later changing to Berry’s Red & White Grocery. Mrs. Bunkie and her husband sang in the choir for many years. “Beyond the Sunset” is her favorite hymn. Being a young 94, she still reads a lot and really enjoys camping with her daughters and friends. Join the group on June 20th. Help her celebrate a very special 95th birthday. Don’t forget your GPS food for those in this area who are hungry. Also, GPS does not need egg cartons any longer.
Welcome New Members!

Preschool News & Tidbits
Well we made it through another year, another great year! The staff will be taking a short break, then back to planning for 2016-17. Our numbers for the upcoming year already look great, so keep up the good work of getting information about our program
out there. Support comes in many different forms. This program could not be what it is if we did not have all types of support. We appreciate everything that has been done to ensure our success. Thanks again and we will be back in touch in August as we get ready to start our new school year.

3 Ways To Find Our Services Online
When you are traveling this summer and can’t join us in person you can find our services streaming live online via ustream.tv. 1. Find a link on our church website, www.swanseafbc.com. To find the link go to the “Online Broadcasting” page. 2. Go to our church Facebook page and find the link in a post pinned at the top of the group page. 3. Go to ustream.tv, click “watch”, and search for our channel, Swansea FBC.
This is a great way to be a part of our worship times when you are unable to be with us physically. Thank you to Chad and the Technology committee for mak-ing this possible!
Student Ministry News
Summer 2016 is now upon us and we already have several big events lined up on our calendar. Before I get into the details of our summer activities I want to say congratulations to the graduates for this year. We are proud of you and your accomplishments and pray that you will continue to grow in Christ wherever he may lead you. You should have received a letter with details on our 2016 Summer Schedule. If you did not receive this letter please let me know and I will get one to you. I also have Community Changers forms available in the parson-age and the church office for those that will be participating.
The first event on our calendar for this summer is VBS the week of June 13-17. This year we will have a youth class available for you. All students, grades 7-12 are invited to be a part of this class. Make sure you come for this week, we always plan some spur of the mo-ment activities during the week. We had a great time last year and I am looking forward to seeing you there this year. Community Changers will be the week of July 10-15. The cost for the week is $75 per a student. If you are not familiar with Community Changers this is our missions emphasis week. We partner with the student groups from Faith and Sardis to do several community ser-vice projects. Our purpose for the week is to share the love of Christ in our community by meeting physical needs. We will again be hosting Community Changers this year. Each stu-dent will need to fill out some forms which are available in the parsonage and the church of-fice.
There are several areas where we need adults to help with this week ranging from lead-ing a project to an overnight chaperone to helping serve our meals. If you have any time dur-ing the week and you would like to help us please let me know. We also need some sponsors that will help with the cost of the projects. If you would like to personally, or through your business, sponsor Community Changers please let me know and I will get you all the details. This year we have decided to add a couple of new events to our calendar. We will take the Middle School Students to the beach on July 28-29 and then our graduating Seniors on Au-gust 4-6. We had a Whitewater Rafting trip that was planned for our High School Students on June 20-22 however we have cancelled that trip due to a lack of interest. Stay tuned to see if we replace that trip with something else. In Christ, John Harmon Eph. 3:16
*****Don’t forget to check out the calendar for upcoming events*****
We Have Come a Long Way
We broke ground on the Dowling Educational Annex in 2002 and on the Fellowship Hall in 2005. 14 years and $900,000 later we have paid off all our debt associated with these projects. God is Good.
Text Messaging Updates
We have created a way to send out group texts for the church. If you would like to be a part of this group all you need to do is text swanseafbc to 84483. Once you are signed up you will get the messages that we will send out with updates, prayer requests, reminders, Family Night Dinner Menus, weather clos-ings, and other things. This is a great way for us to communi-cate with you quickly and I encourage you to sign up for it. If you need help getting it set up please let us know.
Meredith Moments I hope all of you are excited about the end of the school year. As we begin our summer journeys, do not forget about the importance of your attendance when you are in town. It is always nice to get away on vacation, but we need to remember the many ministries we are trying to work and perfect here at SFBC. I am so proud of the choir and their diligent work.
Man did they nail that special last week or what! Also, I would like to extend a warm welcome to Evan Robinette into the Choir (in case you were wondering who the new face was in the choir-lol). I would also like to tell the choir how much I appreciate them. To put it simply, YOU ARE AWESOME!! Do not forget about VBS coming up. We are both excited and anxious about the opportunity…so let’s gear up for a great time in the Lord! I did want to men-tion as well that the Children’s choir will begin their 8 week singing course in October. This school year has been a busy one. Haley has enjoyed her new teaching po-sition and I have thoroughly enjoyed her being off my payroll! Hannah has continued her studies in nursing at USC Aiken and will be back at college soc-cer again this Fall. Also, my youngest, Jane Ashley, made a premier team with South Carolina United that will travel a twelve state region. Jane Ann and I are very proud of Jane Ashley and her efforts. But, please pray for us as we begin this journey with her. However, as much as I enjoy my life and what my chil-dren do and have done, I still enjoy God’s Grace the most! God is good always!
