An Austrian entrepreneur wants to sell a small, man-made floating island to a prospective customer. Gabor Orsos is selling his Orsos Island product for $6.5 million. Orsos hasn’t actually built his floating island yet, but when he does, it will measure 65.6 feet by 120.7 feet. This creation will be environmentally friendly, with solar panels and wind generators for power. Orsos’ floating home won’t have an engine, but it will be possible to tow and anchor it anywhere the owner wishes to reside. The island home will sleep 12 and offer 1,200 square yards of luxury living space. Unique church: In Iqaluit, the capital of the northern Canadian federal territory of Nunavut, a new church has opened that is in the shape of an igloo. It’s not the first time the community has had an igloo-shaped church. The first was built in 1970, but was destroyed by arson. It was set ablaze in 2005 when robbers tried to steal a narwhal tusk cross. The new $8-million version, St. Jude’s Anglican Cathedral, is much larger than the old one and seats 420 people in maple pews. Rev. Ron McLean enjoyed see- ing the new church come up out of the ashes of the old church. Not so funny: Members of the Sheetal Jogging Association in Mumbai, India gather each morning in a small open space for laughter yoga, singing and exercise. The trouble is their laughter is bothering a resident who lives nearby, and an Indian court has ruled that the club has to be quiet. Normally, members clap for seven minutes, sing devotionals and laugh for two minutes. Laugh- ter yoga, which is said to bring peace and goodwill, is popular in India. Club president Sadanand Ghate insists that club members are not making harmful sounds. “We are doing a good thing,” he says. Police disagree and say they must be quieter. Watch your mouth: In Middleborough, Massachusetts it’s now an offense to shout profanities in public. The police have the discretion to determine what’s acceptable and what’s not, but if they think someone is using bad language in a loud, aggressive way, they can hand out fines of $20. The ordinance outlawing public swearing came into being in response to a complaint by Mimi Duphily, who said a group of youths in the community was getting out of hand with its loud profanity. The situation was mak- ing people feel uncomfortable when they were walking down the street with their young children. Trivia 1. What do you fear if you have sciophobia? 2. Which sculptor created the statue of David? 3. What name is given to wild animals hunted for food in Africa? 4. In the nursery rhyme, what was it that Jack Sprat could not eat? 5. Which city had the first traffic light? Quoteable Quotes "Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail." - Ralph Waldo Emerson "Believe in yourself!
