On Monday, June 12, 2017 Mayor Bowser and a host of government agencies walked the Southwest quadrant of Ward 6, identifying issues within the Waterfront, Greenleaf Gardens, James Creek and King Greenleaf neighborhoods. This report outlines those efforts in detail and has been forwarded to each agency for completion and follow up. The Mayor’s Office of Community Relations and Services (MOCRS) will follow up with the identified agencies in a 30, 60, and 90 day check-in period. The Mayor’s Office of Community Relations and Services will then update the community at each checkpoint period until all issues have been resolved.

During the walk, Mayor Bowser announced the new DDOT tree watering app near the Southwest Library, as a part of Back to Basics DC. DDOT released the web-based app for the community to locate and help water the 8,000 newly planted, young trees across the city –
the app lets residents know if the tree needs watering and shows how to water. (More info: https://treewatering.ddot.dc.gov/treewatering)
