K UWAIT LAND FORCES BASE, Kuwait – Senior leaders from the 2nd ABCT, 4th Inf. Div., met with their Kuwaiti counterparts for a partnership meeting at Kuwait Land Forces Base, Kuwait, Dec. 23. e meeting allowed the two sides to go over the importance of continuing their long-standing partnership and speak about future operations that will take place in the region. “What we want to do is to bring in the senior leadership, have a discussion, get it approved and then move out with the orders,” said Maj. The briefing also included a meet-and-greet and lunch to foster a closer partnership between the two countries’ land forces. brigade fire support officer, HHT, 2nd STB, 2nd ABCT. “We want to become more comfortable with the Kuwaitis planning process and help them become more comfortable with ours to make this process smoother.” is meeting was just the first of what Gatlin, also the event organizer, hopes will become a routine synchronization meeting before combined exercises next year. “I think what we’re probably going to try to do is sit down and have another discussion with the Kuwaitis and maybe schedule something for late May or early June that forecasts more events through the end of the year,” said Gatlin. “I think the next step for us is to start to have our battalion level operations officers meet with the Kuwaiti brigade level operations officers on a more frequent basis.” e Kuwaiti’s discipline and care for their country stood out during the meeting. “It was reassuring to see how focused the Kuwaiti land forces are on training,” said Col. Omar Jones IV, commander, 2nd ABCT, 4th Inf. Div. “ey’re very passionate about the defense of their homeland and training every day to make sure their forces are ready to execute that mission.” Jones also said seeing the Kuwaitis dedication to their profession inspired and encouraged him to seek more opportunities to interact with them. e “Warhorse” brigade will have more discussions with their Kuwaiti partners in the upcoming weeks to go over possible partnership opportunities.

KUWAIT LAND FORCES BASE, Kuwait – Senior leaders from the 2nd ABCT, 4th Inf. Div., met with

Soldiers of Company C, 2nd STB, 2nd ABCT set off a controled detination at at demoliontiion range on Udairi Complex Range near Camp Buehring, Kuwait, Dec. 30. For most of the Soldiers assigned to Compnay C, this was their first live blast.
