Their habitat is the water under the trees in mangrove swamps

The average manatee is about 10 feet long and weighs about 1000 pounds.

A manatee needs about 100 pounds of aquatic feed (underwater plants and vegetation )a day.

There used to be a lot of manatees,but now there aren’t very many of them. They’re endangered.

Because some of the swamps have become polluted.

Also there isn’t enough food for all of them sometimes.

So we must save and protect them
