Creativity cannot be taught

Creativity cannot be taught or enhanced through tools, books or toys. Exposure to existing content, art, media or literature may shade or even inspire creativity, but does not power the ability to pull concepts from the unknown.

Necessity is the only ignition for creativity. It is born in a vacuum, nurtured by ignorance of process.

Creativity can be taught

It is said that the human being only uses a tiny fragment of his/ her mind. Some people use the left brain predominantly, some use the right brain predominantly and many people concentrate on conscious thinking and neglect the fact the subconscious mind is a rich storehouse of creative thinking. Here are some exercises to get us to use parts of the brain that we often overlook. The 10 exercises are introduced by Dr Lawrence Katz.

1.Brush your teeth with your other hand.2.Listen to a new radio station on the way to work. 3.Move your watch to your other arm. 4.Sit in a different seat in meetings or at the dining table. 5.Mix and match your clothes combinations. 6.Drive to/from work a different way.

7.Use the mouse with your other hand. 8.Start a new hobby. 9.Read aloud to your friend. 10.After reading, use your imagination.
