Under Coach Sean Hanrahan Warner University has averaged 20 wins a year. The last 8 years Warner has

reached the Final Four of the Conference Tournament 6 times. Only Warner and 2 other conference teams accomplished this feat. Also, in those 8 years Coach Hanrahan has earned the best winning % (66%)of any past Coach at Warner and is now the all-time winningest coach. An instructor at Michael Jordan’s Flight School (Santa Barbara, CA) 2002-Present, he assisted NBA Coaches Dave Severns (LA Clippers) & Kevin Eastman (LA Clippers) during 2002-2007 where he trained and worked with over 30 current NBA players, like All-Stars Kevin Durant, Chris Paul and Deron Williams. Also a great addition to the staff, Brandon Giles, was a 3-year All-Conference player at Western Caroliona and played professionaly in Germany. Coach Giles will be our Recruiting Coordinator and primary on-floor assistant coach. He is heavily involved in the Polk County community serving as Director of the Josh Giles Foundation. Both Coach Han and Assistant Coach Donnie Arey work for the NBA during the summers and throughout the year. Coach Arey’s basketball experience for the last decade includes: Orlando Magic–Clinician and Globally for the NBA in countries such as China, Amman-Jordan, India, Canada, the Caribbean, and over 25 NBA teams. He was the lead Clinician at the last 5 NBA All-Star Games and has also worked several Pro camps like Michael Jordan’s and Dwight Howard’s.

have achieved 1st NCAA Division I win in school history, Nationally Ranked in the Top 10, average more than 20 wins a year, #1 in Conference Scoring Defense, in the Top 25 in FG% Defense, 3pt FG%, Steals, Scoring Defense, Total Defensive Rebounds, FT%, Scoring Margin, and Total rebound Margin. His recruitment efforts have brought in NAIA All American, JUCO All American, HS 1st Team All State (Florida), FL JUCO All State, 7 All FSC Players, FSC Freshman of the Year, FSC Newcomer of the Year, & FSC Leading Rebounder. Coach Han has lead the team to numerous wins over nationally ranked opponents as well as four consecutive Conference Final 4’s (only one of two conference teams to achieve that).

The team travels in charter buses,

stays in 3 & 4 Star Hotels such as the Courtyard Marriott and Don Shula’s Hotel while competing in cities all over Florida like Miami, West Palm Beach, Tampa, Orlando, Daytona Beach, and Jacksonville. Dining on the road includes Outback, Zaxby’s, Red Lobster, Golden Corral, and Boston Market. Coach Hanrahan has taken teams to Puerto Rico, the British Virgin Islands, Costa Rica and Paris. Hanrahan: “One of the great advantages of N.A.I.A. Basketball is that we take trips over seas every year. N.C.A.A. does not allow it.”

Every year we get the opportunity to play Division I teams. We have played the Florida

Gators, FAMU, FAU, and Bethune-Cookman. We travel consistenly to overseas to the British Virgin Islands to help promote the 3 B’s (Books, Bible, Basketball)Coach Hanrahan says, “These are great trips and opportunities to develop our young players and build team chemistry.”

Lake Wales, FL home of NBA All Star Amar’e Stoudemire and near where NBA All Star Tracy McGrady is from. The campus is only a short 35 minute trip from Disney World.

The Warner University High School Team

Camp is one of the top teaching camps in the southeast. It hosts 25 teams each summer and is run by Warner coaches and players. Additionally, our WU players have worked NBA Cares Camps and the Orlando Magic Summer Camps. Warner hosts the only Orlando Magic Overnight Player Camp.

Basketball amenities include a 20x20 foot Jumbotron in the gym for player intros, a TV Production Suite with editing equipment, carpeted locker room with wooden lockers and a 42” flat screen, wall-mounted and portable HD cameras, editing and video station in the coach’s office, and a Gun Shoot-A-Way. Furthermore, the Warner gym was recently remodeled by the same company that does the Tampa Bay Bucs Stadium.

TECHNOLOGY

In addition to having

some of the top players from high schools in Florida, JUCO’s, and around the country, Coach Han and his staff have coached players from Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, Tortola BVI, Canada, Jamaica, Poland, Lithuania, Bosnia, Africa, and Martinique.

Along side the expert coaching staff, Warner University basketball

is supported by a Strength & Conditioning Coach, Trevor Hall with professional athletic experience, Certified Athletic Trainers, a Gameday Operations Team, Team Doctors, Sports Information Directors, a Basketball Operations Assistant, Team Managers, and several academic counselors.

have used their professional relationships to help place Warner players in professional basketball programs in the NBA D-League, England, France, Germany, Switzerland, the Ukraine, Ireland, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Argentina, the ABA, the IBL, and Canada.Life does exist after basketball; coaches have helped players find positions in law offices, insurance companies, the Orlando Magic-RDV Sports, Detroit Tigers-Front Office, The National Basketball Academy, and other professional areas throughout Florida.

AFTER GRADUATION

Hanrahan: “This is a great conference with high level teams and superior locations. We take several overnight trips to Miami and Palm Beach, as well as travel during the day to great places like Daytona Beach and Jacksonville. Some conferences require teams to travel up to 8 hours to get to games; our longest conference trip is 3 hours to Miami.”
