WARRANTY POLICY

In consideration of the premium having been paid by the or on behalf of the insured to the Company, the Company will, subject to the terms and conditions specified herein, provide the benefits set out in this Policy to the said Insured.

DefinitionsMechanical or electrical breakdown • The unserviceability of a covered component for a reason other than

wear and tear or normal deterioration causing a sudden stoppage of its function.

Cover Provided • The Company will indemnify the Insured against loss, for both

parts and labor, due to a Mechanical or Electrical Breakdown of the components specifically covered, occurring during the validity of this Policy and within the Territorial Limits.

Duration of Cover • Policy duration is as shown on the Policy schedule, with the understanding

that no cover commences until the premium is received and accepted by the Company.

Territorial Limits• Cover is restricted to The United Arab Emirates only.

The Insured • The owner of the vehicle as named on the Policy Schedule or such

other subsequent Owner to whom the benefit of the Policy is validly transferred.

The Vehicle • The Porche vehicle detailed in the Policy Schedule, aged

between one and ten years and with a total mileage of less than 200,000km.

The Company • JZM Gulf Auto Mechanical Repairs LLC

Maximum Liability • The Company’s liability to the Insured up to AED 30,000.

Definitions

Engine • Rockers assembly including hydraulic followers, inlet and exhaust

valves, (excluding burn valves), springs and guides, Cylinder head(excluding cracks and de-coking), Cylinder head gasket and push rods, camshaft and followers, timing gears, belts and chains, oil pumps , pistons and rings, cylinder bores, con rods, gudgeon pins and bearings, crank shaft and bearings, flywheel ring gear band engine wiring harness.

Manual Gearbox• Failure of the following internal mechanical parts: Gears, synchromesh

hubs, selectors, shafts, bearings, bushes and transfer gears.

Automatic Gearbox• Failure of the following internal mechanical parts ; Shafts, gears,

clutches, brakes bands, valve block, governor, oil pumps, bearings and bushes, servo, drive plates, transfer gear and computer governor.

Torque convertor• Failure of any internal mechanical parts.

Note / Important: If the terms and conditions of this policy are complied with, the items specifically listed will be covered (Subject to Exclusions) against to Mechanical or Electrical Breakdown of the vehicle described on the Policy Schedule.

Front and rear suspension• Coil springs, upper and lower wishbones ball and swivel joints, upper

control arms and hydro bearing for lower control arms.

Steering (including PAS)• Rack and pinion, steering box where applicable, power steering rack

and pump, power steering reservoir and idler box (excluding gaiters)

Brakes • Brake master cylinder, wheel cylinder, restrictor valve, and brake

caliper seals, servo and vacuum pump.

Anti-Locking bracking sytem • ECU

Electrical System• Starter motor and solenoid including pre engagement mechanism

and Bendix drive, alternator, coil, window and sun roof motors, centralized locking, heater fan motor, indicator flasher relay, distributor, front and rear windshield wiper and washer motors, electronic ignition amplifier, ASR control unit, ignition system control unit, ASR actuator, closing aid pump, window lifter.

Casings• Damage caused to casings and mechanical and electrical parts as

a direct result of the Mechanical or ELECTRICAL Breakdown of a covered component is included.

Working Materials• Working materials and supplies such as oils, filters, and coolant are

covered where their replacement is essential as a direct result of the Mechanical or Electrical Breakdown of a covered component.

Differential • Crown wheel and pinion, gears,

shafts, bearings and bushes, thrust washers and spacers.

Rear Wheel Drive • Half shafts, rear wheel

external drive shaft including constant velocity joints, universal joints and couplings (excluding gaiters)

4 Wheel Drive Vehicle • Cover as described above for front and rear wheel drive

Propshaft• Failure of the propshaft including universal joints and couplings

Wheel Bearings• Failure of front and rear bearings

Engine Cooling System• Radiator, oil coller, viscous fan coupling, water pump, thermostat

housing and thermostatically controlled radiator fan.

Air Conditioning• Air conditioning compressor, expansion valve, AC blower resistor

(excluding AC evaporator).

Turbo Charger (where factory fitted)• Turbo unit

Fuel System (Diesel and Petrol)• Carburetor, automatic choke, lift pump, mechanical or electrical fuel

pumps including fuel injection pump and tank sender unit.

Specific Exclusions

• 1.Body, (including rust and preforation), paint, Exhaus systems, lambda sensors and catalytic convertors, glass, interior/exterior trim, in car entertainment / communication systems associated equipment.

• 2.Any covered component which failed due to normal wear and tear. Below is an exhaustive list of items commonly subject to wear and tear, which if fail due to wear and tear will not be covered by this Policy:

• 3.Any covered component subject to recall or repair or replacement or modification by the manufacturer.

The Policy Schedule is the basis of and forms an integral part of, the contract between the Company and the Insured for the Mechanical and Electrical Breakdown covering the Vehicle shown on the Policy Schedule attached. This Policy is to be read as one document and any word or expression used with a specific meaning has the same meaning wherever appears.

• The Company’s liability, provided that the premium has been paid, will be subject to the limits stated on the policy schedule.

• Each claim is up to the maximum stated in the Policy Schedule. No limit to the number of claims.

• This Policy cannot be cancelled by the Insured and cannot be transferred to another vehicle.

• This Policy has no cancellation value. The Company shall not return any premium to the Insured in the event that this Policy is invalidated or if cover be no longer required.

• Subject to the Company’s Approval, this Policy may only be transferred with a vehicle to a new PRIVATE OWNER who is not directly engaged in the business of motor vehicle manufacture, supply or sales. Application must be made at the time of change of ownership and the additional premium paid to the Company (returnable if transfer not accepted).

• The Company reserves to specify the use of guaranteed (for 6 months), reconditioned or exchange components when appropriate. If the Insured insists upon the use of new components on a vehicle more than 12 months old, then he may be requested to pay the difference

-Wiper blades-Tyres-Brake pads and brake discs-Shock absorber-Clutch disc and clutch pressure plate-Drive belt including deflection and tensioning roller

-Spark plugs-Batteries-Expansion tank PDCC-All bulbs (excluding Xenon and LED lamps)-All filters, fluids, oils and greases-Manufacturer defects

in cost between a new and used component. Conversely if it is impossible to obtain a used component for a vehicle over 12 months old, The Company will pay for the necessary new component(s) without seeking any difference in cost from the Insured.

• No repairs may be undertaken or commenced under the terms of the Policy outside the Company’s premises and by any other party. All repairs must be carried out by the Company.

• If, after the Vehicle has been presented for repair and in respect thereof has been dismantled in part or in full, it is discovered that the fault is not covered or is specifically excluded by this Policy, the Insured shall be liable to pay to the Company the cost of such dismantling and the cost of any repairs authorized or carried out on behalf of the Insured.

• The Vehicle must be regularly serviced at the correct time(s) and the kilometer intervals as recommended by the manufacturer. Failure to service the Vehicle according to such recommendations will render this Policy voidable (See Service Schedule – page 14)

• If the Insured makes a claim, knowing the claim to be false and/or fraudulent, this Policy shall be deemed to be voidable and the right to prosecute is reserved by the Company.

• The Terms and Conditions of this Policy cannot be altered or amended by any person except by specific written endorsement by the Company.

• The Company will not accept any liability for any loss, damage or injury of whatsoever nature sustained by any person(s), property or vehicle(s), including the Vehicle detailed in the Policy Schedule, cause by or arising out of or in any way connected with motor vehicle accidents, fire, storm, flood, theft, malicious damage or any other loss, damage or liability not otherwise specifically covered hereby.

• This Policy does not apply to vehicles used for any kind of timed competition or race.

• No Cover will apply should the Vehicle be used for any purpose for which it is not licensed, or for which it was not originally purchased.

• No cover will apply should the Vehicle’s odometer has been altered or disconnected or is inoperative resulting in the misrepresentation of the Vehicle’s actual mileage.

• The Company will not accept any liability for loss or damage caused by lack of servicing, abuse or the continued use of the vehicle after any fault has become evident, or for any loss of use or any consequential loss damage death or bodily injury of whatsoever nature.

• The Company will not accept any liability for damage caused by non-approved alterations or modifications to the manufacturers specification unless such alterations or modifications are approved by the Company in writing.

• • This policy will not cover manufacturer defects.• • The Company will not accept any liability for any Mechanical or

Electrical Breakdown claim notified to the Company more than 10 days after the relevant fault has become apparent.

• The Company will not accept any liability for any damage caused by war risks, sonic booms or nuclear radiation.

• The Company will not accept any liability in the event that the Insured fails to maintain the Service Schedule and prove that it has been complied with. (See Service Schedule – page 14)

• The Company will not accept any liability for losses which are covered under the vehicle manufacturers warranty or similar guarantee or insurance and for any faults that have existed prior to the commencement of this policy.

• This policy does not cover (as far as such cover may have been applicable to the vehicle insured) any loss, damage, cost, claim or expense, whether preventative, remedial or otherwise, directly or indirectly arising out of relating to:

A. The calculation, comparison, differentiation, sequencing or processing of data involving any date change, including leap year calculations by any computer system, hardware, programme or software and/or any microchip, integrated circuit or similar device in computer equipment or non-computer, whether the property of the insured or not; or

B. Any change, alteration or modification involving the date, including leap year calculations, to any such computer system, hardware, programme or software and/or microchip, integrated circuit or similar device in computer equipment, or non-computer, whether the property of the insured or not. This exclusion applies regardless of any other cause or event that contributed concurrently or in any sequence to the loss, damage, cost claim or expense.

• Take the Vehicle covered under this Policy to the Company. Give the service department this Policy document and proof that the Vehicle’s Service Schedule is up to date. Service invoices may be required.

• The cost of the dismantling will be covered in the event of a valid claim.

• If a claim is agreed, the Company will handle the repair. Any amount in excess of Policy maximum Liability will be the responsibility of the Insured.

It is a condition of this Policy that the Vehicle must be serviced by the Company in accordance with the manufacturer’s service schedule and the service must consist of:

• Change engine oil and filter.

• Check oil levels in the gearbox and differential and top up where necessary.

• Check coolant level and top up where necessary.

• Check timing belt (if fitted) and renew if necessary. Timing belts must be replaced at the time and/or mileage intervals recommended by the manufacturer.

The services indicated are the minimum requirement to maintain Policy validity. However, you are required to service other items according to manufacturer’s recommendations. You are allowed to service the Vehicle prior to the specified times. If any circumstances prevent the service being carried out at the correct time the Company must be informed immediately.

This booklet must be presented to the Company who must complete the date and kilometers noted at every service and stamp as evidence thereof.
