TITLE: Agricultural Power and EquipmentCREDIT: 1GRADE LEVEL: 11, 12PREREQUISITES: Principles of Agricultural MechanicsCOURSE DESCRIPTION: This is an applied-knowledge course in agricultural engineering with special emphasis on laboratory activities involving small engines, tractors, and agricultural equipment. The standards in this course address navigation, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of electrical motors, hydraulic systems, and fuel powered engines as well as exploration of a wide range of careers in agricultural mechanics.

TITLE: AgriscienceCREDIT: 1 (Lab Science or Agriculture elective)GRADE LEVEL: 9PREREQUISITES: NoneCOURSE DESCRIPTION: This is an introductory laboratory science course that prepares students for biology, subsequent science and agriculture courses, and postsecondary study. This course helps students understand the important role that agricultural science and technology serves in the 21st century. This course counts as a lab science credit toward graduation and college entrance requirements.

TITLE: Greenhouse ManagementCREDIT: 1GRADE LEVEL: 11, 12PREREQUISITES: Principles of Plant Science and HydrocultureCOURSE DESCRIPTION: This is an applied-knowledge course designed to prepare students to manage greenhouse operations. This course covers principles of greenhouse structures, plant health and growth, growing media, greenhouse crop selection and propagation, and management techniques. It provides students with the technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and careers in horticulture production. Greenhouse Management is a dual credit course with statewide articulation.

This course covers anatomy and physiological systems of different groups of large animals, as well as careers, leadership, and history of the industry.

TITLE: Principles of Agricultural MechanicsCREDIT: 1 GRADE LEVEL: 10, 11, 12PREREQUISITES: AgriscienceCOURSE DESCRIPTION: This is a course introducing students to basic skills and knowledge in construction and land management for both rural and urban environments. This course covers topics including project management, basic engine and motor mechanics, land surveying, irrigation and drainage, agricultural structures, and basic metalworking techniques.

TITLE: Principles of Plant Science and HydrocultureCREDIT: 1 GRADE LEVEL: 10, 11PREREQUISITES: AgriscienceCOURSE DESCRIPTION: This focuses on essential knowledge and skills related to the science of plant growth. This course covers principles of plant health, growth, reproduction, and biotechnology, as well as fundamental principles of hydroponics and aquaponics.

TITLE: SAECREDIT: 1 GRADE LEVEL: 9-12PREREQUISITES: NoneCOURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is a structured experiential learning opportunity that takes place in a setting outside of regular school hours. Individual LEAs can choose whether or not to offer credit, provided participating students demonstrate mastery of the standards outlined below. SAEs allow students to experience the diversity of agriculture and natural resources industries and to gain exposure to agricultural-related career pathways. SAEs require a documented formal project scope, accurate recordkeeping, and student advisor supervision.

TITLE: Accounting ICREDIT: 1GRADE LEVEL: 10, 11, 12PREREQUISITES: Business Principles, Algebra ICOURSE DESCRIPTION: This introduces concepts and principles based on a double-entry system of maintaining the electronic and manual financial records for a sole proprietorship, partnership and corporation. It includes analyzing business transactions, journalizing, posting and preparing worksheets and financial statements.

TITLE: Computer Applications IICREDIT: 1GRADE LEVEL: 11, 12PREREQUISITES: Computer ApplicationsCOURSE DESCRIPTION: This is a capstone course in which students will learn necessary skills in problem solving using current and emerging integrated technology to include a variety of input technologies in the production of professional quality business documents and presentations. The course focuses on student choice, accountability and performance. Students increase their employability by working toward the attainment of high-level skills in the areas of integrated software applications, communication skills, ethical issues, human relations, leadership, self-management, and workplace management. Students may choose areas of specialization and achieve industry certification in areas such as word processing, spreadsheet applications, multimedia presentations, schedule, and contact management, etc. This course may articulate to post-secondary education.

The students will evaluate the influence of the free enterprise system in a democratic society on daily decisions. Emphasis will be placed on social media, design and digital communications. Students will review and practice successful styles and methods for professional business communications using the proper tools to deliver effective publications and presentations.

Students will explore various careers related to the economy. International trade and economics have become an integral part of Business Economics.

It should be reserved for the highly motivated eleventh grade student. The student will learn elements of writing styles, the impact of literary devices, formats for essay writing, and approaches to literary criticism. In addition, students will enhance their vocabulary skills and learn to work independently on research projects.

Students will read extensively and write critically about their reading. The ultimate goal is for individuals to earn a score on the advanced placement exam that will give them college credit.

TITLE: Creative WritingCREDIT: 1GRADE LEVEL: 10-12PREREQUISITES: NoneCOURSE DESCRIPTION: This elective class will provide seniors with the opportunity to write creatively through additional writing experiences. Students will be challenged to think in new ways and will develop skills that will help them be stronger readers, writers, and thinkers. Many of our students have great creative talent, and this class will nurture and cultivate their growth as creative thinkers and writers.

It begins with the literature of America's discovery and traces the development of American literature through the present day. Students develop vocabulary skills and refresh their knowledge of grammar, usage, and mechanics In addition to the chronological survey of American literature, this course will emphasize an in-depth analytical study of works of literary merit..

TITLE: English IVCREDIT: 1GRADE LEVEL: 12PREREQUISITES: English IIICOURSE DESCRIPTION: English IV is a comprehensive study of the development of the English language from the Anglo-Saxon period to the present. The study of the maturation of different genres-poetry, the novel, the short story, and drama is also included. Moreover, students will learn to write competent essays that exhibit clarity and that adhere to the rules of standard English usage.

TITLE: ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages) ProgramCREDIT: VariesGRADE LEVEL: 9, 10, 11, 12PREREQUISITES: Must have teacher recommendationCOURSE DESCRIPTION: Class placement is determined by standardized testing and teacher recommendation. The classes work on all aspects of English: speaking, reading, and writing. Classes range from the beginning level with “survival” English to advanced skills that prepare students for regular high school English classes.

TITLE: AP History of Art CREDIT: 1GRADE LEVEL: 10, 11, 12PREREQUISITES: PSAT (score of 50), recommendations from an English and a history teacherCOURSE DESCRIPTION: This course makes students more "visually literate" and educates lay patrons of all the humanities. The course focuses on a multi-faceted content that is unique in its concern with the properties of visual works. It is also a branch of history where the primary sources are visual. Students use the tools of philosophy, theology, literature, and aesthetics for their translation and enjoyment. Writing is an integral part of this course. Students must use the tools mentioned and the art vocabulary they will learn to evaluate artistic styles and architecture. Students may opt to take the college board exam for this subject in May. A score of 3 or above may qualify for college credit.

TITLE: General Music CREDIT: 1GRADE LEVEL: 9-12PREREQUISITES: NoneCOURSE DESCRIPTION: This course seeks to give students in grades 9-12 an understanding of the elements, history, and role of music in today’s society. The course will encourage active participation in performing and creating music through a balanced comprehensive and sequential program of study. In addition, a correlation between music, the other arts, and academic disciplines will be included.

TITLE: Guitar ICredits: 1/2GRADE LEVEL: 9-12PREREQUISITES: NoneCOURSE DESCRIPTION: Guitar class will introduce how to play guitar to students who are interested or hone the skills of more experienced players. It will introduce note reading, music theory, music history and performance skills. The class will combine elements of music performance and music knowledge to create well-rounded guitar players. Students interested will supply their own guitar to participate. There is no pre-requisite for this course. Knowledge of music is not a requirement either.

TITLE: Instrumental MusicCREDIT: 1-4GRADE LEVEL: 9-12PREREQUISITES: 1 year of music before enrolling in the first year of instrumental musicCOURSE DESCRIPTION: The first semester will emphasize marching band. The second semester will emphasize concert band.

GRADE LEVEL: 9-12PREREQUISITES: teacher permission and at least one year of band experienceCOURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is a substitute for the percussion section in the Warren County Pioneer Pride Band as band credit. In order to take part, teacher permission is required. Percussionists will learn fundamentals of marching, orchestral (concert), jazz, Latin and Afriacan percussion styles. The fall semester will be spent primarily learning to perfect the marching half-time show. The spring semester will be spent primarily in a percussion ensemble setting. In addition, attendance ot a two week band camp in the month of July is required for participation.

TITLE: Piano ICREDIT: 1/2GRADE LEVEL: 9 - 12PREREQUISITES: (Recommended) General MusicCOURSE DESCRIPTION: Piano I Class provides students with the opportunity to develop a working knowledge of the skills and techniques required to play the piano. Topics covered include music reading skills, correct keyboard fingering and technique, and general musicality. Students work individually at their own pace with teacher supervision and instruction.

TITLE: Theater ArtsCREDIT: 1 - 3GRADE LEVEL: 10-12PREREQUISITES: NoneCOURSE DESCRIPTION: This course teaches students to be comfortable in front of large audiences and be proficient in all types of communication skills. Acting is required.

Students may complete a clinical internship following this course. COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is a survey of the rise of the nation state in Europe, the French Revolution, and the economic and political roots of the modern world. The origins and consequences of the Industrial Revolution, nineteenth century political reform in Western Europe, and imperialism in Africa, Asia, and South America will be examined. The causes and consequences of the great military and economic events of the past century, including the World Wars, the Great Depression, the Cold War, and the Russian and Chinese Revolutions will be discussed.
