After 20 years in the international film and stills industry in Cape

Town as an camera assistant. Warrick felt it was time to put all he

had learnt from the hundreds of international Directors of pho-

tography and photographers into a short film. In order to show

his talent to the Cape Town producers that he is ready to shoot

their projects. Little did he know his efforts would get him no-

ticed outside South Africa as a New Fashion film Director in

the fast growing international genre. So far to date the film has

been awarded 1 gold award & 17 nominations in only 3 festivals.

Warrick created the entire film, incl writing, producing, Direct-

ing, filming, lighting ,Art Direction, Styling and editing the win-

ning directors cut for Miami Fashion film festival. As you can see

it was a work of passion. Produced in 4 weeks & Shot over 2 days

with a large volunteer crew. He received massive support from

the industry players that know him. Incl Media film service,

Priest post, MXFX, 3D Model management, Gavin Rajah, Jo

Carlin & Kevin Epstein to name a few. GFU is based in San Diego

USA under the watchful eye of Fred Sweet.

Warrick directs 48 hour film - 2014—Cape Town

Warrick was asked to help produce and direct a 48 hour

film project. With 2 months to prep his team, raise the

sponsors etc. it is very likely that he created the largest

ensemble of actors in the Cape Town festival. Sadly due

to the load-shedding that hit the weekend, the film never

made the final deadline. Deeply affecting him after so

much work. Needless to say the team produced a fantas-

tic short Horror film. Avail as a directors cut after the

fact. With a very large team on board and brilliant sup-

port from industry. Warrick made the decision to let

DOP Roy Zetisky Light & film so he could focus on the

direction and move faster– a first for Warrick

48 hours to write shoot and edit = madness.

With 20 years experience in the film & video world. Warrick was

never shy to work with good old Sony video beta cam cameras.

Starting to shoot video based projects in 1996. Receiving his first

gold award & 2 nominations for 2 of his ‘making of’ videos in

2000 with Velocity Afrika and Film Masters Italy. His extensive

knowledge of HD placed him perfectly for the change from film

to Digital Cinema. Jumping to the opportunity to work as a

D.I.T for the film industry on the New Red One cameras. Peter

Jackson's ‘Boris & Natasha’ to be precise. The very same cameras

that filmed District 9. With his excellent knowledge of post and

HD he has gone on to D.I.T many international feature and com-

mercial productions. His favorite digital cinema camera is still the

RED although the Arri Alexa is making great strides forward in

the Digital Cinema world with is ease of use and no real trans-

coding necessary. With Warrick’s knowledge of film and digital

he is perfect to assist your international DOP in getting and keep-

ing what they want

Fashion film has grown out of the behind the scenes

world. We would shoot making of videos for stills pro-

ductions. Slowly but surely the clients would want

more product than crew images. This has exploded into

a major genre. A genre that Warrick finds himself

streaking ahead. Most films are web based and shown in

house in the various outlets worldwide—These films

are made alongside the international photographers.

Warrick is highly motivated to continue driving the

genre as the world starts to see the value and sets aside

budgets for them.

Large brands are starting to shoot some very interesting

films where fashion and art meet.

On a closing note Warrick has been getting involved in-front of the camera. Act-

ing in various short and feature films in order to make him a better Director. This

past year brought a very exciting project his way. He was cast in the new Meryl

Streep and Jeff bridges film ‘The Giver ‘ as a featured extra . Playing an Elder

along side both stars. 2015 looks to be a very exciting year
