Summer Theater Camps

Workshop I:Theater Camp for Little PeopleJune 24 to July 12 (No class July 4, 5) 10:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. COST: $425This workshop is open to approxi-mately 25 students entering kinder-garten through third grades. It is designed to introduce young people to theatre. Students will experience every aspect of play-acting from mind pictures to performing. All activities will offer a variety of challenges to accommodate the range of abilities among the students. A showcase performance will be performed on July 12th.

Workshop II: Introduction to TheaterJune 24 to July 12 (No class July 4, 5) 10:00 a.m.−3:30 p.m. COST: $425The workshop is designed for fourth and fifth grade students who would like to introduce themselves to the stage. The participants will work on various acting skills by using improvisations, stage games, stage crafts, and a short play script to produce a 30-minute production. The showcase will be performed for parents and friends on July 12th.

Workshop III: Showcase WorkshopJune 24 to July 20 (No class July 4,5) 10:00 a.m.−3:30 p.m. (plus two possible evening rehearsals) COST: $530This workshop is open to approxi-mately 40 students entering sixth through ninth grades. Each session is devoted to developing various theatrical skills. A culminating theatre production (Lion King, Jr.) will be produced and performed for parents, friends, and community members. Performances will be held in the Fred P. Meagher Theatre on July 18, 19, and 20. Tickets will be available through the Office of Cultural Programming in the Bruder Life Center. Workshop IV: High School EnsembleJuly 8 to August 3 NO CLASSES ON FRIDAYS EXCEPT FOR PERFORMANCE WEEK 1:00 p.m.−4:00 p.m. (plus two possible evening rehearsals) COST: $250This workshop is open to approxi- mately 20 students entering ninth grade through young adult. The class will encourage cooperative learning while concentrating on storytelling and performing. The students will produce Frozen, Jr. Performances will be held in the Fred P. Meagher Theatre on August 1, 2, and 3. Tickets are available at 610-558-5626.

When faced with danger, the two discover their hidden potential and the powerful bond of sisterhood.
