Washington State API Hepatitis B Task Force
Since 1997, to lower the prevalence of hepatitis B in API communities in Washington State by promoting awareness of, screening for, immunization against, and treatment of this deadly disease.
Supported by the state Department of Health and WithinReach; network of community partners includes: Community based organizations and foundations Community clinics and health departments Healthcare providers and concerned individuals
Three workgroups, supported by the Steering Committee: Community Outreach Provider Outreach Teen/Young Adults Outreach

Various Past and Present Activities: Developed linguistically appropriate and culturally sensitive materials to educate API
populations about hepatitis B; Developed and air provider interviews (Cantonese & Mandarin) on AAT Television
(multicultural channel); Placed articles in public health newsletters,
state medical organization publications, and national publications.
Conducted presentations to schools, professional organizations, API communities.
