Project Challenges continued:

The post event clean up saw all the abandoned tents being cleared from site, along with tonnes of general waste and all the waste collected was transported to our nominated Materials Recycling Facility, where the waste was subjected to a recycling programme to ensure the maximum amount of waste was recycled or re-used. Plans are already underway for the 2012 event, where the visitor numbers are expected to increase further.

The UK’s leading independent provider of waste management solutions to both the public and private sector.

Project Challenges:

In order to operate safely and to ensure that the site was clean and tidy for the start of each day, our teams worked through the night on the days of the event itself, with collections being made during the early hours.

The weather also played a part, with heavy rain causing all sorts of problems for the vehicles but by using a variety of containers and vehicles, it was possible to clear site of all the waste within 10 days after the event.
