    Water Consumption Reduction measures

    Re-use of treated sewage water for

    horticulture purpose:

    The treated sewage from STP is utilised for

    horticulture purpose & thus reducing therequirement of fresh water.

    Operating CW system at higher COC:

    Earlier the project operated the CW system as

    per the design COC of 4.0 To reduce the water

    consumption, the project is now operating the

    CW system with higher COC of about 4.3 4.5.

    Pilot Study for Effluent recycling

    A pilot study to know the

    feasibility of effluent recycling

    was carried out at the station with

    CW blow down water.

    The CW blow down, approx. 150-

    200 M3/hr, which constitutes

    about 90% of the plant liquid

    effluent was treated with a skid

    mounted combined Microfiltration and Reverse Osmosis

    unit.
